Preseason AP Top 25 Poll Released

I will say at least Indiana legitimately impressed in their short season. I don't have a problem with them starting out high, they're in the same boat as us in some ways.

Not like those years Minnesota played 8 horrible teams, won 7 games and somehow got ranked because Big Ten team with decent record.

Agree the B1G had to rewrite the rules to screw Indiana over. Anything to preserve TheOSU.

Here's Clemson's Schedule,,,,,,After Georgia #5,

then SC State < #130
Ga Tech #86
NC State #34
BC #42
Syracuse #96
Pitt #41
FSU #52
Louisville #65
UConn #119
Wofford <#130
South Caroline #93

A Real Gauntlet.

Every damn year....

I think the all-timer was the thread after the Louisiana game saying Coach Campbell isn't any better than Rhoads.
I don't know how anyone can be in those game threads. It would take away any enjoyment in the game for me to have someone complaining every drive that ISU doesn't score 6 or gives up any points. The expectations of some of the idiots in those threads are ridiculous and they aren't afraid to rail on the team at every opportunity. I tried to watch a game and be in one once and it was not enjoyable at all.

That is amazing.

There are 65 power 5 teams, I believe so you would expect that a power 5 team would have at least two thirds of their games against teams ranked 65 or higher, right? This schedule has 6 - fully half - of the games against teams ranked 66 or lower and #65 to boot. Only one team in the top 30 as well.

Woof.

They had plenty of rest last season... :jimlad:
Oh crap. That will be Iowa fans excuse if they lose to Indiana (like their excuse for the Oregon BB game). Indiana had plenty of rest since they only played half a season last year (ignoring that they both played 8 games total).

Note - I think where you have Wofford actually is Wake Forest.

(Not that it changes the overall limpness of the schedule, of course :) )

Georgia’s schedule is comparable.

Clemson (neutral site)
UAB
South Carolina
at Vanderbilt
Arkansas
at Auburn
Kentucky
Florida (neutral site)
Missouri
at Tennessee
Charleston Southern
at Georgia Tech

That’s two top 25 opponents, both at neutral sites. Their toughest game after that is at Auburn who has a new coach and is transitioning to a new offensive system.

Of the four road games, one is at Vandy and another is in Atlanta against a below average Georgia Tech team.

I hope they beat Clemson and UAB upsets them. UAB is the consensus favorite to win Conference USA’s West division and I could see Georgia getting big heads after a huge win over Clemson. I won’t be surprised at all if that’s a close game. I’m not a gambler but that might be one where you take the points depending on what the line is.

How great would it be if Georgia loses to UAB and wins the SEC? Will we hear all year “they lost to UAB”?
