KU reportedly hiring Buffalo's Leipold (not Monken)

Recruit better players and play football.

Good grief, I know Kansas has been bad at football for a decade now but they aren't limited in the players they can get like Army etc... If Iowa State can have a good football team that runs traditional systems then there is no reason other than poor hires and poor recruiting that Kansas cannot do the same thing.

Sounds like the Buffalo guy is getting the job so we don't have to worry about it.
Sure there is. Your football fan base sucks. Your players have called you out on it.

Pretty sure that if they had better players and a better coach and they actually played like a D1 football team that there would be plenty of fans in the stands. KU fans are hungry for a real football team, not this D2 garbage they have been rolling out there for the last several years.

Do you think Matt Campbell talked about the fanbase when he got hired as a reason to come here? Do you think he said to his wife, look at how much they are supporting this program that's in rough shape?
(That's all on the record BTW)

Your football fanbase sucks. Deal with it.

I’m not sure it even exists, really.

You mean their state of the art practice facility: https://kuathletics.com/anderson-family-football-complex/

Or their state of the art locker room: https://www.kansan.com/sports/ku-fo...cle_96af6e4e-6f19-11e6-8761-c3a692bfbadc.html

I doubt many recruits turn down a scholarship because the stadium needs a wash and a paint job. KU's practice facility and locker room are fantastic.
Football games aren’t played in a locker room. Recruits aren’t going to want to play for a program that can barely even get their 47,000 seat stadium half-filled...

Things suck until they don't. When the product is better, the fans will return.

The only thing that will help that stadium is a wrecking ball. Anything else is just lipstick on a pig.

Half is extremely generous

LOL. You've been given evidence how we got a coach, and retained him, that has turned down Florida State, Tennessee, NFL, and here you are saying well until we (KU) don't suck, no reason to care.

This is great.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...even if it's a questionable attempt.

As I stated in another thread, they were going to hire the guy most like Campbell. Leipold ran D3 powerhouse Wisconsin-Whitewater. In his 8 seasons, he made the championship game 7 times and won 6 of 7. Mount Union won the other two.

We'll see how he does. He has his work cut out for him.
