Why do people constantly claim TJ needs an "X&O" guy? He only got hired at two schools on his own merits to be head coach. All coaches need/want assistants with basketball minds. You need that at every level but it's like people were looking for some place to criticize so they made up the X & O thing.

TJ should probably be worrying about getting an X an O guy instead of an assistant who might bring his son for a year when we probably aren't going to be very good regardless. Just saying.

If the assistant of a coach we would have been pissed if we hired is that guy then ok....

The Green family is very attached to CF....... Cedar Falls. He left UNI and came back once some years ago. They would be great to adapt into the Cyclone family but that doesn’t seem realistic.

This doesn’t concern me. I don’t see any path to him becoming the HC at UNI in the next 5. 10. Or even 15 years.

Just wanted to chime in on this as I have had all sorts of people asking me about Grant Gibbs over the last 48 hours.

As of now, I do not have any information that would lead me to believe he will be on Otz's staff. I'm not sure where that all came from but it looks like a "no" at this point.

All coaches need an X's and O's guy. There's too much going on in a game to be the only one drawing up plays. Someone's gotta be getting the team ready when you're chewing refs' asses for the BS calls in Lawrence.

I wouldn't think getting a guy like Kyle Green has anything to do with AJ. Green has been a respected coach at many levels and for many years, long before he had a kid with D1 talent.
