Anyone else hearing that JP has already decided Prohm is coming back?

Wait a minute, they just swept the mighty Spartans of San Jose State. Right now they have a conference record of 7-7/10-11. And of those 7 conference wins, 6 are against opponents with a combined conference record of.........................................................6-40. There three out of conference wins are against Kansas State by 10.......mighty St. Katherine's and Benedict Mesa.

Who was the one good win against? If that coach lost to a joker like T.J. then it’s pretty clear we shouldn’t hire him either.

Who cares what age Beilien is? Who’s the last coach we kept longer than what he’d be here? Sure, I love the idea of a great coach being here 20 years... but I’d be happy with a short term higher with a high percentage chance of returning the program to glory and hopefully doing better at hiring his replacement this time around.

That said, he’s a pipe dream hire.

It will be interesting to see how students show up, either way really. Historically tend to show up when we are good and for big games especially, but this group of students hasn't had tons of good.....BUT, maybe post pandemic events students missed out on will get a slight bump.

If Prohm is back, truly will be interesting to see the "fans voting with their feet" outcome.

4 games a yr the students will show up great the rest of the time they'll fit a few extra in the bottom or maybe not even fill the bottom in all the way, it's been that way for a couple of yrs now. That's my prediction anyway.

The big question is, does the next coach keep Hilton's lights on?

Aren't we on the Oklahoma State plan?

Gut the basketball program and go all-in on football?

If we have to choose...if there's no other way....then Cowboy Up
OK, but they still have a BB program, so.

ISU fans are really dedicated, new coach will get more than a fair chance and good support IMO. If he can get the team to play a entertaining competitive style of BB fans will show up. That style doesn't have to be high powered offense(Johnny and Fred) defense works to (Floyd and Eustachy).
The team and staff needs to show a identity and a willingness to play hard as long as there is effort fans will support them. Heck look at the game thread from yesterday in the beginning there was despair, but when the guys put the rally on I remember no posts wishing them to blow it, once the game slipped away it seemed to more of a sense of disappointment IMO.

Sorry this post got longer than I meant for it to.

Fit is more important that anything. That is why TJ should have been hire when Fred left. As we can see now even an incompetent could have coached that team to some success. TJ was the best fit at that time and had the best chance of keeping the momentum. He probably isn’t the best fit now. This is a major undertaking at this point. If you hire another flavor of the month like Prohm it’s a crapshoot whether they’ll turn it around. Steven Leath should have his ass kicked.

yeah I think tj was the right guy when Fred left, but now, I don’t know...seems like he isn’t the right guy now to me

Just heard this from a guy that hits on probably 50/50 on the rumors he tells me. He’s hearing that Prohm isn’t going to just go along with this “mutual parting” and Pollard is worried about shaking up the AD and affecting football in front of a potentially huge 2021 season.

50/50 or 50/100?

It's a much different job now. Maintaning and building on a culture you were part of creating is much different than taking over a dumpster fire with no identity and revamping everything.
