I loved it, but I can see how the first two episodes might be alienating towards those who didn't grow up watching the reruns for these types of shows. I feel like you can tell how much the cast has bought into this concept though, it's very well acted. There's also enough easter eggs to give you an idea of where it might be headed.

I'm old as dirt and grew up on these shows and I could not get into WandaVision at all. Not seeing where they are going with it beyond the very obvious and it's just real cheesy so far.

I think WandaVision ends up being unreal in the end when they put it all together. You can see little bits here and there of what may be coming. I am hooked simply because it’s something completely different from Marvel at this point and I have got to see how they tie everything into the overall MCU.

Marvel isn’t dumb, and their track record says they know what they are doing the vast majority of time. A few outliers, so not saying this can’t be a giant letdown in the end, but I would suggest sticking it out. The episodes so far aren’t long so not that much of a commitment really.

I was bored out of my mind and I also grew up on the reruns. I’ll stick it out, but there better be a payoff.

I thought it was slow, but clearly on purpose, perhaps why they released 2 episodes on opening day. I’m not familiar with Sword...I guess it’s like Shield 2.0? Guessing many payoffs in the coming episodes. The bee keeper and Wanda’s reaction was a nice twist at the end.

Finally was able to watched the first couple episodes of WandaVision last night, and coming from someone who wasn't super excited for this series outside of the fact that it is our next MCU installment, I'll say that I walked away pleasantly surprised with it exceeding my expectations. I even found myself really getting into the sitcom aspect of the series and caught myself laughing out loud a few times. I almost forgot how much I liked watching certain series like I Love Lucy when I was a child. Everyone is spectacular in the series, but most notably Elizabeth Olsen. She has really brought a whole new level to this thing. Ultimately, Marvel is really trying to experiment and go for something new and different with this series, and I applaud them for that. Like anything this drastically different and new, I get that it won't be for everyone and I think so does Marvel, and that is okay. In the end, I do think the long-term impact of Marvel continually trying to innovate to keep things from getting stale will outweigh the downsides of certain things truly just not being for all people groups. Ultimately, an increasingly stale MCU isn't a good thing either. See the Fox X-Men movies to see where that route leads. Anyway, I'd encourage everyone to at least give this series a good shot to see where exactly it leads, and if it ultimately isn't for you, that is just fine too. Just jump in on whatever the next MCU installment which trips your trigger.

I was really intrigued as to where they are going with it. My wife was confused and I'm going to have to work to keep her interested until it fleshes out.

I told her it's going to be a slow burn, and that's not usually her type of show.

Kinda. SHIELD for threats from space and maybe other dimensions/universes/whatever.

The whole thing made me curious. I liked that they're keeping the cards close to their vest so far.

Yeah, I didn't even try with my wife. Prior to watching the show, I would have given my wife a 20% over/under percentage she would have liked the show. After watching it, I'd probably bump that up to 25% is all. Ultimately, I'd rather save my built-up credits for something with what I deem a much higher over/under percentage like a Falcon and the Winter Soldier. She really liked all the Captain America movies, so I'm going to give that more like a 70% over/under. I can live with that. Also, when I hit, it usually earns me some credits back for the future, whereas I tend to lose even more credits when I miss. My overall credits tend to be some complex equation of hit/miss rate and time.

My wife didn't really watch a lot of classic TV shows growing up, no Nick at Night like me. So it was a hard sell. We'll see if she gets hooked in the next few episodes.

I'm not sure there track record is really as good as it seems.

80% of the movies are actually good and they don't have the burden of 40-60 years of old shows and movies to be compared against...yet MCU simultaneously benefits from 70 years of storytelling in another medium. That's a recipe for success that helps them gloss over the mistakes as if they never happened.

I'm a pretty big Star Trek fan and some of the stuff I think is the absolute best was mercilessly hated by fans when it came out (TNG, DS9, the new trilogy of films). Marvel doesn't seem to have that, they have relatively "new" fans wanting to like the stuff rather than pick at it.

There are definitely some tough critics of the MCU. Captain Marvel got a lot of flack for trying to do the girl power thing and hate for Brie Larson. The older MCU shows that were on Netflix were torn apart by critics. Some were successful, some not.

So, they've faced criticism and had ups and down in both film and shows.

And that's really a shame. Captain Marvel was excellent.

I thought it was great as well. There was basically a viral wave of hate for it that I never understood. I think it was an anti-woke movement. And I think people genuinely didn't like Brie, even though I think she's pretty darn good.

It was totally that.
A buddy that's usually one of the calmer, reasonable people that I know just shut this movie out and got all tense around the words Brie Larson. It was weird.

Captain Marvel was fine. It was just a standard run of the mill superhero movie which is the coin of the realm in movies these days and some people are tired of it and that's okay. I thought Larson's performance was a little wooden but CM isn't exactly a barrel of laughs character. Some of the Netflix MCU shows were just bad.

Its the same corners of the internet that hate on the new star wars and new star trek for their diversity. A very loud minority. Not that those movies can't have criticism, but with a lot of the people it was very obvious where their issue came from.

Kang the Conqueror-The villain in Ant Man 3-old school-time traveler.

I like.
