Its only Jan 14th.

We have 13 more games to go. This is going to get so much worse.

I no longer think Prohm's situation is gray - its becoming black and white.

Pending a complete miracle (winning 4-5 games of the 13), he's toast.

Unless he loses out we won't lose 20 games then

So it doesn't have to be 3 consecutive at .300 or worse, just 3 total, at one school?

(Not saying I'll be able to help with the research anyway, just checking specific parameters)

Brad Brownell is a name that came to mind but even he hasn’t been as bad as prohm

Herb Sendeck had a stretch 2010-2012 where he went 19-35 (.351) in conference play and he went on to make NCAA tournament in 2013-14

Sendek sort of fits. 19 and 21 loss seasons, then NIT, NCAA (1st round) and NIT, but then gone.
So relevant might not be the words, but he didn't stay in that wrecked condition.

The pac 10/12 was also terrible during his tenure there. Many times finishing behind the MWC and A10

I don't know if I have time, but it sounds fascinating to find out!
We could put a group together. Everyone picks a conference and finds out?

Another close example

Tim miles took Nebraska to NCAA tournament in 2013-14 going 19-13 (11-7)
Then went 17-37 (.314) in B1G over next 3
Got it back on track in 2017-18 then lost it again in 2018–19

Should he be fired if he finished 9 or 10 this year?

I don't know much about K-State, but for me, if I don't see a vision for significant improvement on the team - then I think you have to consider firing him after this year. But he also gets the benefit of the doubt with two regulation season conference championships and an Elite 8 appearance. So I think you could easily justify bringing him back for a make or break year next year.

Let's just limit it to 20 loss seasons since the Big 12 started.

A&M: '98, '00, '01, '02, '04
BU: '99, '04
CU: '07, '08, '09
TT: '12, '13
TCU: '13, '14, '16
OSU: '16, '19
OU: '17
UT: '17
WVU: '19
ISU: '20
KSU: '20

In the Big 12 at least, there have only been back to back 20 loss seasons a few times.

A&M: Fired Barone after '98 and Watkins after '04
BU: Fired Miller after '99 '04 Drew took over after teammate murdered another one
CU: Fired Patton after '07 and Bledzelik after '10.
TT: Fired Gillespie after '12, had interim head coach in '13
TCU: First year in the league in '13, fired Johnson after '16
OSU: Fired Ford after '16
OU: One bad year under Lon '17
UT: Shaka Underperforming '17

Basically guys are generally fired after 20 loss seasons. Nobody has even remotely turned it around after multiple 20 loss seasons, they were fired directly after it or shortly thereafter. If the season continues at this pace turning it around would be a herculean effort.

So, basically, from what we have thus far: You can kind of get there a little bit if your lows happen in a weak conference.
And by get there, Tim Miles lost in the 2nd round of the NIT, and was then fired. He never made the NCAA after the 2013-14 season.

If Cali @ Kentucky keeps up at this rate, I could see Beard getting the offer, if somebody doesn't beat them to it.
They have started turning it around and are tied for 4th in the SEC. they also only have 4 more games against currently ranked teams left on their schedule.

Summary? I'm not aware of the views, just curious.
Just curious what has been said about him? I don't know anything about him aside from that he coached Drake for what seemed like a very brief stint, had moderate success but no NCAA appearances, and jumped town the first chance he got...is that it?
I don’t really know but it sounds like he wasn’t well liked at least after the fact. I kind of got the impression that he was extremely in it for himself.
