I'll go with next week being postponed.
Thats definitely not what we want.
I didn’t know where to put this information but I don’t think it is worthy of starting a new thread. I just noticed today that that Kliff and the Cardinals are straight up running Heacocks defense in the NFL.
Would it be to KSU’s advantage to not play this game and avoid a loss?I'll go with next week being postponed.
I’m not sure how you think they’d have that option. That’s why there’s an open week.Would it be to KSU’s advantage to not play this game and avoid a loss?
It's taken some bizarre and corrupt things to happen for us to lose a few of those games though. This really is the one game we can't get away with playing sloppy because they win in the margins too.Not to mention the only time we've beaten KSU the last 10 years we were down 17 in the fourth quarter.
Without looking it up, i'd venture that we had early leads in all the games we lost during this last 10 years (minus the CPR beatdown)

No kidding! Our kicker kicks too low on an extra point. CPR risks a fumble when there was no need to. Reggie Smith inexplicably picks up three flags, the last one would have won the game for us and he was 40 yards away from the play and did not see the play at all. Bizarre and corrupt, good choice of words.
SP+, which uses play-by-play analytics, has us at #19 and KSU at #56. They are predicting an 11pt ISU victory. Earlier in the year they indicated the the play-by-play stats said OU should have beat them, and Arkansas State should have beat them worse. That was when they were 4-1 and had beaten all the bottom conference teams. Since then they've lost two more games. We seem to be in place to beat them soundly like WVU did.
That being said, I fully expect some undead Snyder ******** to make this a nail biter till the end. They'll probably get some experimental COVID treatment on Thursday night that will turn them into the Incredible Hulk for 48 hours until they all shrivel and die on Sunday morning.
It takes 7 games for preseason rankings to have minimum effect. Since they've only played 4, preseason ranking still makes up 50% of their rank. Also, they lost to Ohio State by the margin it predicted and ended up losing two other games where they "won" all the stats that are highly predictive of victory. Usually when you outgain your opponent by 200+ yards and drive into their side of the field twice as often as they do, you'd expect to win the game. Penn State did those things and still lost.SP+ ranks 0-4 Penn State #16 in the country. 'Nuff said.
I usually try to be cautious about saying things like that, but when they have 2-2 Iowa with two terrible losses and two worse wins on their record in their power ranking and 5-2 ISU left off -- with ISU leading their league and their only two losses to currently ranked teams -- I have to wonder.Almost as much as ESPN hates ISU

I think if Klieman is willing to make a public comment like that, the game is definitely in jeopardy.
