ABATE Rally in Algona

No, you see, it didn't happen to him, therefore it's not an issue

that says 62 for Kossuth not 26 right?
62 is very low for a county in Iowa. Mean is probably a couple of hundred. The county data is meaningless anyway since most of the riders were from out of the area. When I went years ago when it was in Humboldt, the majority were from out of state. I think there were more from Minnesota than from Iowa.
For you helmet law advocates, do you wear a helmet in your car? Why not? Motor vehicle accidents are a major cause of head injuries.

Meaningless? Have you considered the possibility that the riders brought the virus TO them?

There's a lot of stupid to digest here. Well done.

All of the rural Iowa counties should have very small case numbers because density is virtually nothing. If any of those counties have substantial cases they're screwed because there isn't any hospital capacity.

Do you have a seat on your motorcycle? If so, then your argument holds water.

Also, Kossuth county is about 18k people. You have to compare it to similar populations, not Polk, story, or Johnson counties.

I would never have guessed that much. I'd have guessed 15k at the absolute max. Algona is the only decent sized town and that's only 5,500.

I could be off. I was thinking 18, Winnebago and Hancock are each around12.

EDIT. You got me curious. You were right. 15.5k is what wiki said.

The theoretical risk of something like the ABATE rally is that a few infected people could infect a lot of people at the rally. The vast majority of those people then went home to other places. (So it wouldn't affect the infection rate in Kossuth County) The people in town would only be at risk to the extent that businesses had more customers and physical separation practices broke down.

This seems like a good opportunity to remind everyone that testing negative for an antibody test does not imply a person has never had COVID. This area is still under research, as the level of involvement between T cells and antibodies is currently unknown and has varied among different studies so far.

Wright County, where I live, is about 12K population and has had about 430 positives

Exactly.
