Blake Hinson Committed To ISU!

I think Steve's done. Can probably shut this thread down now.

Ha, a lot of CF'ers would have said the same thing after Gach went to Minnesota a week ago. While I don't expect anther transfer soon, who knows who may become a possibility a week ago... I mean Hinson came wayyyy out of left field. Plus now we're on waiver watch. the thread wont die. ;)

Something is going on with this site/ my phone. Could've sworn I posted that in the 2019-2020 transfer thread

Final year TO% --

Haliburton = 20.1%
Morris = 8.1%

Tyrese has some work to do to equal the point god. :)
Tyrese was much more careless with the ball than Monte was, however gotta love some of the successful passes that came from taking the risks.

Agree wholeheartedly, those hating on CSP are licking their wounds before hibernating. Big12 is going to be brutal this year so I will be very happy with a first round bye in the Big12 Tourney. 3-6 will change daily as games are played.

We’re not licking our wounds, there’s just no point in arguing what we’ve accepted.

Everyone is much more careless with the ball than Monte was. If Tyrese had played in enough games to qualify for the NCAA leader board in '19-20 his A/TO ratio of 2.328 would have put him at 40th in the country. Not Morris, but still elite.

Also keep in mind that Tyrese set up so many players with wide open looks that they time and again couldn't knock down. missed shot = missed assist

They’re solid. If they get the wavier Prohm might have something.

I think that he DOES have something. It's not a perfect roster by any means...there's no real facilitator at PG unless Walker is ready to contribute. They lack a little in outside shooting. And, Bolton, Harris and Jackson are all a little undersized at guard. But, they have pretty good athleticism all the way around. There's some size and ability in the frontcourt and they're not likely to be pushed around there. I think that Bolton has some skill attacking, Jackson and Harris can hit outside shots, JCL and Hinson have experience and can get buckets. Who knows if the FR will be ready, but chances are at least one of them will be. And it sounds like Johnson is a pretty good player.

That's a decent mix of talent, experience and skill. If they get two waivers, which I would guess they will, I think that's a bubble team. And the next year they have everyone back minus Solo and JCL. It's on Prohm to get everyone to buy in and accept their roles...and then keep everyone happy enough that they stay through the offseason. I have my doubts on whether he can do it, but he's at least made the first step of putting together a decent roster....and one that won't completely fall apart if any single player goes down.

If both get waivers there is a 100% chance we have a better team. Sure, we lose our best player. Other than Halliburton, the starters and depth are just more talented and experienced. We have the size and athleticism to do what Prohm wants. We won’t have to fit square pegs in round holes again this year.

guy seems to have the makings of becoming a fan favorite in Ames. great pickup and what a welcome surprise this morning.

I thought Both committed to Minnesota?

Sounds like from reading about Kermit Davis's offense they he didn't like 3 point shots and his offense was more designed to get mid range jumpers and shots in the lane. Just a guess, but I wonder if he shot a lot more contested shots at Ole Miss than he would in a Prohm offense. Will likely have better looks from 3.

To follow-up on this with some supporting data, Ole Miss was 266th in 3 point attempt rate last year and 239th in 3P%.

We still kind of do have to do that at PG but there are multiple choices to fill that role, at least. Also, didn't Prohm run some sort of two lead guard offense at Murray State instead of a true single point guard system?

I like the highlight clip. He does a great job of squaring his shoulders on his jumper, has a consistent release and shoots a true jump shot except when he gets well beyond the arc. It looks like he's a pretty good ball-handler too. He seems to be exactly the type of versatile player on offense that Prohm wants.
