Agreed it is unknown if people who have already had Covid will have immunity based on having the antibodies in their system and how long those antibodies will remain.
My comment relates to our immune system has what I'll term a memory. So if someone has Covid and recovers. Then let's say 6 months later they are infected again.
They may have have antibodies and immunity to prevent getting severe symptoms the 2nd time around.
My OP post was saying, even if antibodies don't exist in our systems 6 months later, our immune system remembers how to create the Covid antibodies. So the person's body will fight off the infection at a faster pace.
I agree is is horrifying to suggest we would want to intentionally infect people. But if a vaccine isn't developed in the next year, we might have adopt an approach more like Sweden.
No one should take Sweden's approach.
The people of Sweden no longer want their approach.
If 80% of the population simply wore a mask in public, the transmission of the virus would stop.

Huh? We’ve already adopted it. Sweden’s approach is not much different than our current approach. They simply did not reduce activity by govt order at the level their counterpart nations did (it did not work very well given they took nearly the same economic hit and had more deaths and didn’t reduce transmission as well as their peer nations). They certainly did not intentionally infect people.
If a vaccine isn't developed, we can't shutdown the world for 6 months each year.

Not all countries closed their schools. Would the US consider keeping k-8 or k-12 schools open.
Can some businesses remain open using new protocols? Places where there are fewer customer or one-to-one employee to customer interaction. E.g
Barbers, jewelers, etc.

Are all teams making players sign waivers for COVID acknowledging the risk? If not I’m sure many follow suit now.
600,000 die from heart disease and we spend something like $300 billion/year on it and we don't care about or try to change that either.

If a fan tests positive for the antibodies and donates plasma to the athletic department, how many Cyclone Club points do they earn?

are teams gonna play each other if players are sick? I doubt it. Unless they put teams in strict quarantine the season won’t last longer than a week.
short of keeping the teams completely quarantined from the outside world, I see no way to keep them from just passing it around to each other.
Because if they didn't have strawmen to argue against they'd have no way to argue at all.
