If Prohm cannot land a Tier 1 PG for scoring guard this off season with TH going into the Lottery along with numerous other NBA players then this program has a whole lot of problems IMO..

We just had a 12 win season. Pretty clear there are a whole lot of problems.

Not surprising that he stayed out West. I hope they stay can land either one of Aiken or Turner (Turner seems more likely) and then go for some really good sit out guys.

Hello, we just had our 2nd bad season in 3!

We know we have problems. Imo they’re fixable, but so far we’re not seeing those repairs occur.

This times a million. All the playing time in the world available at guard positions and a history of putting pg in the NBA. If you can’t get a high level guard this Spring then I think the writing is on the wall.

It won't matter what's on the wall, if we don't get a high level guy and we end up sucking, Prohm's gone.

CW, two questions for you:

(1) Maybe I misread his quotes, but it sure sounded like we are 4th for Aiken, and it now looks like we are 2nd-3rd for Turner. What are you hearing for Aiken and Turner?

(2) We appear to desperately need a PG and an additional scorer/shooter. If we miss on Aiken, Turner and Gomez, what do you see as the most important PG and scoring/shooting targets?
On 2) I heard from a friend there’s a kid in her daughter’s MATH 140 class that was all-district at his 2A school.

We might have to dip into the football recruits! Maybe Tampa from Florida could walk on the Basketball team! From his Basketball highlights might be worth looking into!

ISU point of view. 1-10
Gomez as a starting PG: 4-6
Gomez as a gunner off the bench: 8-9

Gomez point of view. 1-10
ISU starting PG: 7-8
ISU role player: 3-5

Just saying Gomez could of been a HR if he was OK with coming off the bench.

Maybe we should look on the positive side. As much as it is frustrating to struggle to land these high level transfers, maybe we aren’t telling these kids, “we’ll take care of you” ;) (if you catch my drift) like we know very well ‘some’ recruiters are doing! Then again, I could be way off base.
Hard to get a west coast kid to Iowa as many of you have already said.

How much he would help ISU is debatable, but I don't think it's debatable to say that having a guy who shoots 40% from three and 95% from the line would be an asset. Too bad.

I'll say it again, and a bunch of you will dislike it and argue it, but we are going to take whomever will come here. We won't be able to pick and choose.

Just having four scholarships open makes this argument for you.

It would be best for us and the program if next season is cancelled due to the virus.

No thanks. I’d rather life be normal and finish last place and be able to move on to a new coach than be stuck in the current situation where you can’t travel, there’s no sports and you have to be constantly worried about the virus.

You know we are in rough shape when our recruiting philosophy becomes "beggars can't be choosers".
