Never been there, but I have been to CR across the street - on your recommendation, thank you very much.
I'm guessing if BC hits it big Mrs. BC would probably be putting a new home somewhere on his to do list.
I have a buddy who retired from working with me and gave himself two years to build their dream house. He was doing practically all the work that one man can do alone himself. He even put a huge elaborate rose compass in the wood floor. It has been done for a few years and I still haven't been out to see it. I've always figured that we'd buy a nice enough house to tide over while picking out a dream house or whatever, and then maybe turn that "starter house" into low-rent grad student housing to help them avoid some expenses/debt with a quiet place to call home for a while.
There are so many ways to go with this that I am paralyzed by indecision.
It was a heartfelt thank you, though.

I doubt I'll be making it down to Ames any time soon...unfortunately.
I'm confident my brain full of useless info could be at least a minor asset, but I doubt it is in the cards.
