Nothing is better than having your kid tell you at 10 pm on a Sunday evening - after you have been on an hour long run and are getting ready for bed - that they have a bunch of physics homework that they don't understand and they need your help. I spent the next two and a half hours relearning physics I learned (and forgot) 30+ years ago and teaching my kid through her homework.

WHAT WERE YOU DOING ALL BLEEPING WEEKEND!
Ohhhhh, the memories... :D
I'm just glad I didn't have to deal with "friendly numbers" and common core math. Conference times would not have been pretty.

My Garmin will track runs and distance, and has a heart rate monitor option, but otherwise just tells time.
You could have it do mileage for a day, I think. Just start the run thing, switch over to normal watch mode, and I believe it would run in the background.

Thanks! I'll take a look at this too.

We've been catching up on a new show via On Demand, and I know it's stupid...but it really REALLY ticks me off when they're trying to teach someone to waltz, and they're playing a song in 4/4 time AND calling it a waltz!!! Grrrrrrrrr...

And the correct time is? (because I really don't know) TIA

Tell them your out on that. See you Monday evening they can change that a day later.
One of the other guys on the team said he was going to be covering it. It's the general principle of the thing. I can guarantee if the Patriots were in the Superbowl again this change would not be scheduled for that day.

I remember staying up all night to write papers in high school that I had procrastinated on for a week or two.

Follow up: He showed up 15 minutes after I left, so 40 minutes later than the time he picked.
I'm really lenient on things, and I'm not grading anything, but you gotta be within 40 minutes.

You're more lenient than I would be. If you can't show up within 20 minutes from the scheduled time without notice, that's just disrespectful IMO.

Or at least bring a beer right?

There ya go.
I'm not telling him this, so I'm passive-aggressively whining here. Usually, I have a conference call on Monday for the book fair company. Today, no, so I had the time he asked for.
I closed the restaurant last night, and I don't sleep well when I do that, so I was shot and wanted to go home for a nap. Instead, I worked/ate in my borrowed office, put stuff away just before 1:00, the scheduled time, so I wouldn't be in the middle of something and distracted, and waited, but only 20ish minutes.

If I were full time, I wouldn't care as much, since I wouldn't be balancing other things. It would tick me off, and I'd smile and press through it. This one just annoyed me because I quietly changed my day for the kid and he couldn't make it within 40 minutes of the time he picked.

Also, I hate late.

Yeah we did too. But my Mom took a square dance class before that and took me to it when I was just a kid. It was a lot of fun and there was a hot young woman there (newly married, early 20's) who I always danced the Cotton Eye Joe with. I was a tad smitten.
You wanted to dance the Springle-ring with her?

I wasn't making fun of you. I was just pointing out that playing (or singing) music in a structured situation tends to teach you how to count measures. I didn't know you were in band...sorry!

It was a friendly explanation...but apparently you were mocking us regarding counting a waltz beat?

I was joking about the all conference band thing ( I was but what other conference does that). Making fun of myself.

I was just ribbing you guys about the beats for waltzing, I have no clue when it comes to that. I can two step and triple step (or at least could) enough to save my life, but that is the extent of my ballroom style dancing. Think it looks like something interesting to know though.

My kids usually informed me around midnight that they needed help. I would have been excited with 10 o’clock.
