Why do teams continue to hire Belichick assistants for head coaches when none of them work out? Good luck Giants.

Because technically he hasn't been fired - just not renewed. Since he is under contract until the 14th, any contact without permission is considered tampering. BS rules, but they are rules.

Seems dumb and a complete failure of the system. Imagine penalizing a guy because his team is good????
Time to make the coaching change season after the Super Bowl.
He could leave KC right now, he would have probably had a job if he were willing to do so. College coaches do it all the time. I don't blame him for not being available but I also don't blame a team that doesn't want to wait around. I wouldn't be against what you mention though, I'd think if you are EB, it's tough to sneak away and give an interview 100% when you are in the middle of a potential Super Bowl run.
That said, the two jobs today hired more of a CEO type of coach rather than the play caller type that EB appears to be. That's at least how they were sold by the teams that made the hires.
The other possibility is that EB isn't a great interview, dude got 7 interviews the last two years and no one took a shot.
Nick Saban?
Pat Hill?
Kirk Ferentz?
(Granted, all three of those are college coaches, but good ones.)
Bill O'Brien?
Mike Vrabel also just knocked his old boss out of the playoffs.
We'll see on O'Brien and Vrabel. Guessing both will end up about .500 at their current jobs. Not much else in the pro ranks for assistants that had success as head coaches.
Reid calls the play in to EB (who is literally like right next to him on the sideline) and EB relays it to Mahomes' helmet. Also in KC the offense runs through Reid. Everyone thought nagy was a genius hire but after a lucky first season he showed this season that maybe he isn't the genius many made him out to be.
Must of been wowed by yesterday's performance:
Sounds like he has some health issues, and doesn't necessarily want the full OC responsibilities. That's the rumor anyway. Maybe they'll promote his son.So do they just make Kubiak the OC?
He had those issues previously I think.Sounds like he has some health issues, and doesn't necessarily want the full OC responsibilities. That's the rumor anyway. Maybe they'll promote his son.
Yeah. It's supposed to be why he took his current position. Didn't want to be a HC or OC but still wants to coachHe had those issues previously I think.
