Bates Interested In Iowa

If he goes to a team that we play... we need to do with him at Jack Trice what we did with Adam Huluska in Hilton - Boo every second of the game he has the ball.

It'd be worth his transfering there just so we could do it

I predict this thread will explode rather quickly... two sore spots: Bates + Iowa =

He would fit in well at GT.

Iowa would remind me too much of Haluska the traitor.

I hope he goes to Iowa. I can only imagine the bullseye he would be wearing when he comes back into Jack Trice.

On a side, note, I doubt he would beat out Stanzi.

So does that mean we would compare him in the look-a-like thread next to Haluska?

I'd love to see him go to Iowa.

Not me. I think Bates would have been the best running QB ISU ever had (best combination of strength and speed) and he's also underrated as a passer. I definitely don't want to see him stick it to us later ala Adam Haluska.

honestly, what a tool. Sounds like the RB that left Iowa because he didn't win the starting job. Quit and find an easy starting job to win.

What makes you think Bates would have turned out better than Wallace ? Wallace could run like a scat back and had a cannon for an arm.

I didn't know that completing under 50% of your passes was considered good. So I would not consider him underrated as a passer.

With all the schools listed, makes me think that he had this planned out for a while. Should have QUIT before the season even began.

He is the wrong type of QB for Iowa. If he goes to Iowa, he will either have to change positions or sit on the bench. He is not going to Iowa.

Bates is not accurate.

you are wrong

IMHO he does not "fit" what Iowa looks for in a QB. They are typically lookng for more of a pocket passer. Bates is too quick to pull the ball down and run. Hopefully he now understands that when a school says you can "Play QB" what they mean is you can "Compete for QB". I can't think of too many schools that will give their 2nd string as many series as PB had in order to prove themselves.

Have you ever heard of Seneca Wallace? Bates couldn't even win the job. That is a lot of what ifs.

He had the potential to be. However, until he learns to not be afraid of contact and lower his shoulder, he will never be a great runner.
