Good read. I’m a firm believer that after a starter comes back from an injury, they get their job back until they prove they no longer deserve it.
Generally, I would agree about starters not losing their spot because of injury. But Wigginton only started 1 game this past season before getting injured. Sure he started in 2017/18, but that was a bad team and there was a lot of player turnover. The Cyclones won games while Wigginton was out, so I understood Prohm's decision to make him 6th man. To have that offensive spark off the bench, benefited the team.
Should Wigginton eventually have started when the team went through its late season funk? IMO Yes. Should Prohm have been less rigid, always waiting until the 14 minute mark or start the 2nd half after a strong 1st half? IMO Yes
