Self just quashed the rumors of him looking to leave. Sorry folks, seems like you are stuck going against Self at Kansas for several more years.
Yeah because a coach has never lied before.....
We do fine against Self.

Can Self sustain success without cheating?
In years past KU has De Silvio smoothing over the loss of Doke to injury. Plus Langford (IU) filling in for Vick.
KU’s past their peak imo.
That's fine we own you in the Tournament and have have a winning record in the last 13. I'll take Toupee Bill.Self just quashed the rumors of him looking to leave. Sorry folks, seems like you are stuck going against Self at Kansas for several more years.

Cheezdick was a bit more pathetic than Self though.Gene chizik was firmly entrenched a day or two before signing an Auburn contract.
I wonder if Bill Self will become the first coach in collegiate sports history to say they aren't going anywhere, but ends up leaving.
Fred isn’t stupid. He knows what potential punishments could be down the road for KU.
Maybe.
Exhibit A) He called the Bulls one of the top franchises in the NBA. This is before the 2015 season - Michael Jordan had not worn a Bulls uniform since 1998. Derrick Rose had that one good year or two around 2010, but they sandwiched that with piles of mediocre or worse.
Exhibit B) "I absolutely love this roster. I love the versatility of the players. The different lineups that we're going to be able to play, can play small, can play big. As far as going in there, I try to have enough things on my plate where we can go out there and take advantage of a mismatch. We've really had a system that we played at Iowa State where we've inverted the floor." - Fred Hoiberg.
Broken down Rose and Noah, with pleasant-to-work-with Jimmy Butler as the pillars of the roster. Granted he may not have known that going in, but two of the three were certainly no spring chickens.
Exhibit C) He knows Tim Floyd and I'd wager good money he could've gotten his former coach's opinion about what kind of franchise the Bulls are. Crumbs Krause did Tim worse than GarPax did Fred. Fred knows Gar, just like Krause knew Floyd. Floyd asked the media at his intro "Don't call me Jerry's boy". Fred didn't say anything along those lines, but the Chicago media, who lean anti GarPax because they have eyeballs, certainly slanted it that way. Especially when Fred started to struggle. If he did get Floyd's opinion, and he signed up anyway, well...naive is a better word than stupid.
I like Fred. I really liked him at Iowa State, and certainly don't wish him ill will. And, for the record, I don't think he's stupid. Right now. If he takes the KU job, well, I reserve the right to change my opinion.
That’s just PR? Did you expect him to just go in and trash his players publicly?
Michigan State is a better basketball program right now, but it is not as good of a job as Indiana, Ohio State, or Michigan.
They are still bluebloods and top notch jobs. I don't care if they have been down for a while. UCLA was in the final four in 2006, 2007, and 2008. They are in better shape now than Kentucky was when Rick Pitino took over.Indiana is about as good of a job as UCLA currently is - everyone thinks they're this "great job" because of what happened in the 1970s and 1980s, But what has either school done in the last 20 years? Very little. The only reason why Indiana is a "good job" is people that have 35-40 year memories keep saying that it's a good job when in reality this generation doesn't care about them.
No.
First of all, I dont think Self is going anywhere. There is no NBA job that gives him more job security than the job he currently has and very few that would pay him as well.
Second, Danny Manning would be very low on KU's list. I would suspect the first call if calls were being made would be to Beard.
Adidas $ vs Oil $ in a cage match - would love to see it!Could you guys out bid Texa$ for Beard?
Not sure I agree "on north carolina treatment". This is FBI..not just NCAA. They won't play nice because they don't benefit from their success.. NC was only NCAA right?I could debate the job security with the investigations going on, but I’m not naive. Even if Kansas and Self were found to be totally guilty of everything, the NCAA would just give them the North Carolina treatment.
Beard would be interesting though. Do you think that would be an actually good fit for Kansas? Gritty defense and hard nose lunch pale players aren’t the first thing I think of with Kansas and their constant roster full of high school all Americans.

Did Kentucky fans stop going to games? I’ve caught a UCLA game once in a while on TV and their crowds are pathetic now. They are still bluebloods and top notch jobs.
