NCAA Seeding

Why not? Drake is the host and the committee allows non-conference rematches (but tries to avoid them).
Technically, the committee can rematch a non-con matchup in the round of 64, but only if they have to. They won’t do it just for yucks. That chances of it happening are less than 1%.

Lunardi's last bracketology has us as a 7 seed in Columbia playing Seton Hall. Would have a 2nd round matchup with Duke :(

I'm getting nervous about my prediction of not being below a 6 seed.

I would bet they get a 6 with their resume and strength of schedule. Some idiots are sliding them down to a 7 or 8 based on the last couple weeks but that is now how they pick seeds.

Time for the annual reminder that the importance conference tourney games is not that great, historically. I’ll go on record and say the floor for ISU is a 7-seed, the ceilings a 5, and they’ll need to win at least 2 games to move up from 7.

I’ve beem wrong before (frequently), but the tournament games are generally no more important than the preceding 30.

I get what you are saying and for most conferences I believe this to be true. The unique situation with being in the 4/5 game is that every game will probably be a Quad 1 game. Similar to 2017, if you add three Q1 games, your seed can rise a couple spots in a hurry.

It's funny how worked up some people are about the seeding considering everyone seems to think we aren't going to win another game.

Someone has to predict that we will win to be interested in what seed we are? That makes no sense at all.

I think it’s perfectly reasonable for a mock draft expert to have us as a 7. Net raking has us at a 6 and they aren’t just going to go down in order picking teams.

I'd rather be a 6 than a 5 TBH. I'm convinced the committee tries to keep the 12 vs 5 upsets going as much as possible (or at least make them more competitive than they should). Plus, with a 6, you avoid the 1 Seeds for as long as possible if the team catches fire. Would rather go 11, 3, 2 than 12, 4, 1

But if we aren't going to win another game, the seed doesn't matter, right? Hell, if we get a 6 or a 7 seed with as garbage as some of you seem to think we are, then you might have to accept that we weren't a terrible team.
