So a bit a vent here...

I am on the board of a aviation group and really am the only one doing anything as far as organizing events, activities and things for the chapter (local chapter of a worldwide association) to do. The other board members and I (including VP and Pres) have had a email chain about needing to get together to get things going for the year. They also admitted that I was about the only one doing anything and that they would support me in elections. Great. The VP says he will set up a board meeting to get the ball rolling. That was a week ago and I have not heard a peep. Starting to get a little frustrated with everyone right now.

I have numerous plans/goals for the chapter that I want to get the ball rolling on if they support it but it feels like no one else really cares if anything happens.

Vague job ad that may or may not be an opening for an American university in Vietnam.
The ad won't really specify that there's an opening in history per se, and salary info is not to be found, but today's burst of snow makes me think that noting matters as long as it's not this stuff again.
I bet you'll make tons of Vietnamese dong though, I'd take it.

There are 2 types of Father's Day requests I have noticed in my relatively short fatherhood experience and I've done both depending on what has been going on around the time.
1. Spending quality time and doing something fun with the kids.
2. Getting a break from being a father.

I gave up on requests. It took the wife about 5 years to realize that when I said a card is more than enough for me, I actually meant it. I honestly hate gifts, don't mind giving but hate receiving.

Maybe time for games would be good.......don't think he's had a Mt Dew..........probably since college? He's not a big pop drinker.

A brag here. I have only had one 20 oz pop since february of last year. Used to drink a couple 32 ozers a day. I drank that last planting season when that was all I could get out of a vending machine and the AC went in the planter tractor and I was probably down a gallon of fluids. Bad idea, made it worse.

I guess I did try a sample cup of the pepsi stuff they were handing out at the Alamo bowl. Wanted to see what I thought of pop since I hadn't had it for awhile, I have lost the taste for pop, had to go back over to the free cookie stand across from it to get the taste out of my mouth.

Start tweeting about the size of the presidents hands. That seems to get people talking.

An idea for those husbands wanting to get something for their wife for St. Paddy's day. Says it all about our wives' I believe.

Congrats to @VikesFan22 high school alma mater Center Point Urbana, Four straight trips to state and they bring home the title tonight. Previous 3 trips ended in semifinal losses. They played North Polk a conf. opp of Nevada's and they ended our string of state trips last year so was happy to see them go down.
Thanks Rulzzz! Sorry for just now seeing this. I haven't been on CF much at all lately, but for some reason, I think I just got the notification today.

I don't drink much of it anymore. Usually if I go to a movie which is getting very rare. Also when on a road trip I'll sometimes get a bottle to drink in the car after I get tired of just water.

This story sounds vaguely familiar...........

Just here to ***** for a second.
Got my flush letter from Worcester, so I have no apps out there right now.
Hadn't heard from them since they started reviewing apps, so I already knew. I wasn't sure I'd actually receive a flush letter, and figured they'd just blow it off, which is fine enough.

My favorite BS line: "We faced difficult decisions in narrowing our list to those we interviewed, wishing that time and resources had allowed us to speak with far more prospective colleagues than was possible."

No, you didn't. You're hiring one person, and nobody actually wants to interview a ton of people. Come on. Cut the crap. Those little remarks to "ease the blow" to people who already know the score are more aggravating than just cutting to the chase and moving on.

also, I mentioned Mother's Day to DH and that I had gift ideas and he's like what, Mother's Day isn't a gift giving holiday.

Booooooooooooooooooyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy I know you didn't just say that to me.

I'd bet 99% of my Mom's Mother's Day gifts were hand made cards from us kids after we were big enough to make them and flowers picked from the timber. Dad always did take her out for lunch or later on do all the grilling and sides if we stayed home.
