Have you ever been to the UP of Michigan? Pasties (pronounced past-eez, not paste-eez) are a big thing up there.....I believe it's an Eastern European thing. Meat, veggies, cheese, are all baked into a pastry crust, kind of like a pie.

But you drive around the towns in the UP and there are signs everywhere saying "Pasties for Sale." The first time I saw this, I thought, "This must be where all the strippers live."

I had never heard of them either until I was looking for lunch when I rode up to Ontonagon to see Lake Superior.
 
DH was off today and sent little man to daycare. Did some errands and such and then came up to have a dinner date with me - first time post baby! It was nice and we're doing it again tomorrow. My mom going to watch the goofball while DH and I go to brunch and a musical.

Leftovers reheated in a microwave = sustenance; leftovers reheated in this thing = real food.

I had a mini-fridge in my office, and a microwave in the breakroom across the hall...both purchased by me. When I retired, the boss assumed I was going to just leave them there. She wasn't happy when I told her she could buy them from me.

Side note - if she hadn't been such a *****, I probably would have left them behind for the lab techs & students, no charge.

City, county, and state road departments are going to have to transition from planning the route of their plows and where to put all the snow immediately to fixing pot holes. There are quite the number of rim ruiners out there.

The county road I drive to one of my work sites, is already falling apart it's going to be bad by the time spring finishes up.
 
Congrats to @VikesFan22 high school alma mater Center Point Urbana, Four straight trips to state and they bring home the title tonight. Previous 3 trips ended in semifinal losses. They played North Polk a conf. opp of Nevada's and they ended our string of state trips last year so was happy to see them go down.

I thought this driving today...............soooooooooooooooooooooo many potholes!
