Lawson isn't that athletic. He's just really good

Jacobson got the ball at the rim several times and got out athleted.

How many times last night did he stand and pump fake and pivot, rather than take the ball straight up? At least 5

He’s a good player, he’s been tremendous for Iowa State.

I haven't seen much anger in this thread, which is good. I get being disappointed, I am too, but honestly them keeping it close shows honestly how good this team is.

A top 4 seed in Des Moines should be the goal at this point. That would be great, and it's very possible.

We need Wigginton and Lard to play better. I'm not killing them, they are very good players when things are clicking, but it just wasn't yesterday and that happens.

So CF headlines says it requires near perfection to win at Allen Fieldhouse. No, it doesn’t. It just requires consistency. Something this team has lacked throughout conference. The defense fell apart last night. That’s aggression and focus. Wigginton is like a yo yo from one game to the next. Halliburton isn’t getting his shots. When consistency arrives this team will be a threat to win the conference. Right now they look like a team that could end up with a 50/50 record with wins and losses scattered up and down the Big 12 list. IMO there is no way they shouldn’t have won last night with a solid game, didn’t happen (the solid game part).

He's a legit 6'9

I'm 6'4" and having stood next to him there is no way he is 5 inches taller than me.

I couldn't find a great picture, but here's one where he's standing next to Talley and Conditt. Talley (who goes at 6'7") looks taller and Conditt definitely looks taller than than the inch difference between 6'9" and 6'10" which Conditt is listed at. I can't imagine the angle distorts things too much as they appear to be standing right next to each other. But in any event, a dumb thing to be arguing about.

I mean this all as a compliment. The kid plays his tail off and tries to get position. But at his height he should be guarding 4s not 5s and is just at a bit of a disadvantage there.

8 shots is a lot when you only make 1. Defense is important when you aren’t make shots.

I like Lindell. I think he’s a good player. I’m not nearly as irritated with Lindell as I am with the fans that are STILL saying he should be playing more and starting.

I thought he played just the right amount yesterday. I don't want to see anybody play over him. For the people that want to see Talley over him... we'll just agree to disagree.

He's had a tough season. Sometimes that happens. I feel for the kid because his goal is obviously to be in the league next year, and stay or go after this year it's not happening at this rate. However, we need him and Lard to get more consistent if we want this team to be as good as it can be. It's just a fact, for that reason I'm happy with him playing 25+, Lard getting as much time as he can, and we'll take it from there. I was really happy with the rotation yesterday. I think we should be doing that the rest of the season with some sprinkling of Conditt and Talley in. That's a solid rotation, we just need some guys to play up to their capability.

Using pictures to determine height is dumb.

For the millionth time it's well documented and proven our heights are accurate. If Jacobson is listed at 6'9 he's at least 6'8.5 with shoes on

I'll say this, for as bad as some fans are on here after a loss, Facebook comments are WAY worse. Not surprising, there's some very uneducated, opinionated people out there, in all subjects.

This is so true. I should have come to CF before checking out FB. Holy hell there are some real winners posting on there. Yikes.

The only thing I've noticed is that the better we're doing (while the outcome is in doubt), the less likely he is to sub. I do think he needs to make it a point to sub out Babb more, as 39 minutes of wear and tear a game isn't good for him, and we'll need him down the stretch (this is where I think starting Wigginton and bringing Tyrese off the bench at the first time out would help).

I see where you're coming from, but it isn't simply a matter of if Halliburton can handle it. Right now there is no argument that Halliburton is helping the team play better than LW, and possibly anybody with the exception of Shayok. No surprise that massive run by KU occurred with Halliburton on the bench. I have no clue what the team dynamics are like, but if I was a player I'd probably rather see the guy playing better basketball get as many minutes as possible.

With that said, I was able to see some positives in LW last night despite the clear struggles. He was passing well, has been rebounding very well, and I thought his threes were largely in the flow of the offense. A couple of the drives were bad decisions and pretty disastrous.

Not sure what Lawson's wingspan is, but it sure looked massive after he hit his three and he held up his arms. The guy is damn good. He made some tough shots, and I think he deserves a lot of credit for having a really good feel for how to play without the ball.

Haha, I hadn't noticed that in the picture. That is funny.

In any event, I stick by my observations. I don't think he's a legit 6'9". But to each their own.

It's weird both Nebraska and Iowa State would list him at 6'9" if he is really 2" shorter.

7'2,5 wingspan for Lawson

An added thought- I do think we need to go 8 deep, minimum, to keep our legs fresh. I'm particularly concerned about NWB, as he still moves like an old man when he's off the floor. It would be really bad if Nick can't go down the stretch because we couldn't give him 7 or 8 minutes of rest.

I noticed this too. It looked like every move he made he was in pain, or extremely stiff.
