Depending on which part of the RW you are on, you can find just about anything that you want down there. It's funny, when I first went down there, I thought the RW was great, but then rarely ever went when I lived there. I know my family avoids it like the plague....nothing wrong with it, just touristy. Anyway, if you're up at the north end of the RW near the Pearl Brewery, that's a cool area to check out. La Gloria is a Mexican place (not my favorite, but ok) near there along with several other bars and restaurants in the Pearl Plaza. On the other end of the RW near a lot of the hotels you'll find a lot of the typical chains, from higher end ones like Landry's Seafood to Whataburger...you can get just about anything you want. There are some non-chain places sprinkled in and some ok tex-mex, but I'm not as familiar with the hidden food options down there. If you're not opposed to walking a bit off the RW, go down to Market Square. Mi Tierra Cafe y Panderia is a great little bakery with authentic mexican sweet deserts and a full menu...I think it's open 24/7 also.
