I had a teacher in high school who reverse grade order sat you. So dumb kids in the front. It was savagery.

Freshman algebra...flip it. Good grades in front, bad grades in back. I don't get it either.

@cowgirl836 Awwwwwwww hell to the no. I don't care whose feet are stomped on or whose feelings are hurt or that they already took time off. Shut that male bovine excrement down. The boundary crossing here is inexcusable.

Good grief. That triggered me somehow. Did I just go half Boxster?

Sort of my thought as well. Seems like DH is on the same page. Though he's not funny calling it my "birthday surprise". So I guess now we wait for these relatives to inform us of these plans, lol.

We’re planning on just visiting Wisconsin and using your house as Airbnb with no compensation while you are in hospital. Hope your insurance pays for two days. Teenagers flick hair all over bathroom when they shave so we will leave that in bathroom to welcome you home.

Carvers, there is an evil streak in you that I wasn't aware of... :D

QFT.

Boxster seal of approval since he agrees 100%. Have admired my sisters discretion in not invading her daughters space after each baby except when invited or needed. Cannot say the same for all of the other grand parental units involved. I don't get how some people can be so self involved to the exclusion of what others might actually want or not want.

God, I had two teen brothers. That damn hair, everywhere! All over the sink!

So much venting here.

The real help is needed when #2 comes, especially during the hospital time. No one came when our 1st was born. No visitors in the hospital, no one at our house. My mom did come a few weeks out, maybe for a few days? With the second we had an unexpected 6 week hospital stay so needed someone at home with the oldest. Each mom was able to do 2 weeks, then we had a relative who was not working at the time so she covered the last two weeks. Hubby was off work for 2 weeks, so after that he was home but going to work. We switched off on the weekends, I would come home and he would go to the hospital.

By the 4th one one set of grandparents met her when she was 2.5mo old . . .

Any electricians on here? My brother borrower my truck; he swears he put it in park, but he stopped in at my moms house, and when he came out, the truck rolled out of the driveway downhill and took out one of those green electrical boxes. Of course since its my truck, it will have to go through my insurance. How much should I expect the bill to be for that green electri box to be fixed? It took a couple hours for them to fix it and get power going. My property damage liability is 100k, so I'm fairly confident I'll be fine, but I'm also paranoid the bill for this would somehow exceed that

Double check on the insurance responsibility. I think if I borrow someone else’s vehicle, my insurance is who takes care of it.

One son's MIL was a teacher. She helped them out when first was born (in early September). She was planning on being there to help with their first when second was born. Unfortunately, #2 child had different plans and decided to arrive 5 weeks early. I got a panicked call one morning at work from my son, who said "Mom, we're on the way to the hospital - E's mom can't get leave from work on this short notice and we have no one to take care of #1 child".
Told my boss I was leaving, went home, packed an a go bag and was there in five hours. Picked up kid #1 from their friend's house, went back to the dorm they lived in, and fielded 900 questions from his residents about E & baby #2. Didn't see my son until the next morning, and got to go see baby #2 when she was about 15 hours old. Sadly, we couldn't take kid #1 into the NICU to see her mommy...that was kind of heartbreaking. E's mother was able to get there a day later, and I headed back home. She didn't stay long either, though...did I mention son was a hall coordinator, and they lived in a 1 bedroom apartment in a college dorm?

It was kind of cool to be asked - typically, the MIL is the LAST person a young mother wants there. :)

Opinion requested here. For HS graduations, did you guys have your kids invite people they had never talked Toni their lives but you thought they were important? Such as their grandparents friends? I said I wouldn’t expect the son to invite these people he didn’t know if they weren’t relatives. Wife says you offend these people if you don’t invite them. Apparently saying that there are a lot of old people she knows that get butt hurt easily is not looked upon favorably by wives

This business of seating kids by their academic performance doesn't cut it with me. Kids are inherently mean - it's their way of establishing their self-esteem - and they will pick on anyone with a perceived difference. I don't think it's healthy to shine a light on those who maybe don't have the learning acumen others do.

In junior high, I was talking in class. (And yes, I knew better.) But the teacher made me stand on my desk and then asked, "Do you feel like a big man now?" I was very short in school, barely 5' tall when I graduated. I was also the youngest in my class, 16 at graduation. So I was very sensitive about those things.......and he chose to illuminate them. I never forgave him for that.

And people inviting themselves to stay with you for extended periods of time? Ballsy indeed. I can't imagine feeling that entitled, even with my own mother. Simply good manners to ask first.

Maybe they can help with those 2AM feedings..........

Also quite cool that Maddie won last night. Plus the big reveal that she and the male finalist were BF/GF! They both seemed like very top-shelf people, hope their careers take off in a big way for them.

Incidentally, Lionel Richie looks pretty good for 68. Funny what a little Grecian Formula can do.
