First Carton/ISU connection that I've seen. Not much but something.

Carton is a nice player but I just don't really see why he has risen so much in the rankings . From what I have seen he looks like a 4 star for sure but I would have guessed he was between the 75-100 range not then top 40 or 50. But I think I read that it is considered a weak class for PGs.

He is playing on the AAU circuit which means he is playing with other elite point guards. So it really has nothing to do with how good his high school team uses him. I know a couple kids that just have limited game on the high school team because the coach sucks, yet kill it in AAU and if they get in the right system, they will shine in college. Carton may be one of those kids. Now saying that, not sure if anyone has ever shined in Frans system except Jok and Uthoff.

He mentions heading to Ames on a visit to meet the rest of the staff and players. Maybe he will notice the gap in talent 1st hand in pick up games and realize Iowa is a joke.

If he can't see the talent gap within five minutes he probably isn't smart enough to get into school.

True but crazy that no reports from eastern Iowa media came out when someone from staff was at one of Cartons game. If Fran and his staff went to a game they’d report on what he bought at concession stand.

But they grew up Hawk fans. Technically, Gessel didn't grow up in Iowa either. Maybe Frederick isn't a Hawk fan but I was thinking he was.

If this counts then Conditt is one in the Cyclone column as a legacy.

I’m starting to think Tandy is becoming the main 2019 recruit in terms of the one fans most want and the one the staff has prioritized the most. Could definitely be Liddell too.
