What is she drawn towards for a major? If Iowa is actually a top school then it's harder to make a case against it. Nephew has talked about going their for the writing program not sure if he has actually applied.

These stories always make me think of a prof at ISU - actually a department chair - whose daughter went to Iowa to pursue an eventual law degree. Scholastically, it made sense. But the dad said how he would only ever write a check to his daughter for her to put toward tuition, he never paid anything directly to Iowa. Oh, and salt on the wound was when this daughter of a very, very big ISU wrestling fan became a wrestling cheerleader............for Iowa.

I figure we'll avoid this in the future because we are in WI. Anything they'd want to pay out of state to Iowa for, they can probably get just as good a program for at UW. I don't see where Iowa would have the advantage. Other than distance from parents. But I'm sure our sweet future children would never want such a thing :D

You don't need to ask them that question. My daughter has a friend that will be going there and she does want to visit the school. If she likes the school and the financial package is adequate, I don't think she'd have much trouble going there.

The campus is beautiful, I'll tell you that. Not nearly as "middle of a peaceful corn field" as ISU, but quite pretty. I only saw U of M's campus in Feb and I think it was the smaller side - wherever ag stuff is. So I probably didn't get a good look at whether it's actually pretty.

so DH has been getting all his shots so he can go on this trip tomorrow (I haz a sad) and we were talking about it at trivia and he showed us the little circular band aids they put on. It was a tweetie bird! I die.

Then when he got home and was changing..........I noticed that he had one on his other bicep too. Twin tweetie birds! I about died laughing and made him flex a couple times with this tweetie biceps. Good times.

oh hai, I even read the last six pages. I feel marginally caught up.

Haven't ridden my bike this entire month. Should pull it out tonight but the potholes are just killer. I know a guy that blew a tire hitting a pothole, put on the donut and proceeded to blow it out a few blocks later a few nights ago

That's the St Paul campus. I've never been there but I don't think there is much to it.

You should be sad for DH. I don't know anybody that has made that work trip to India and particularly enjoyed it.

After much thought, (and a hefty bribe), I've decided to decommit from Team Cooler . I want to thank Team Cooler for everything, but I have to do what is best for my family. I am therefore announcing my committment to Team KC.

#RESPECTMYDECISION

TEAM PONGID!!

Just kidding.

TEAM COOLER!
