I'm not saying we aren't getting those too, but they had sent the current helmets out to be refurbished for this year. I read this as them getting them back.

Hopefully this means grey AND (yellow)gold lids. I would prefer a matte yellow finish.
Not sure I get the same confirmation from those tweets. Especially Josh's ski helmet.
these are new helmets. with everything CMC has said about new uniforms and the little hints cyclone equip has dropped there is no way the AD posts this about getting old helmets back from the "repair shop". they would blow any good will they built with that one small post.

I'm usually good with most of the designs on here, but something seems off to me on this one. Maybe the cardinal is too deep?
That design looks more intriguing than I would expect (for my preference).
It's possible the oddity is gold helmet, cardinal jersey, white pants, we aren't used to seeing that — IIRC, that combination hasn't been done since the Criner period.
Uniform-archivists may need to verify that.
Use of the '80s cyclone helmet-logo as an alternate has grown on me. I was among those who associated it with a down-period, but then I realized, it also reminds me of when I was attending ISU. Maybe it's nostalgia or I've begun to appreciate its uniqueness (it helps not to have that cursive Iowa State lettering nonsense, which dated badly).
I love the helmet design and hope that it's worked into rotation. That and the walking Cy (my personal fav). I will say that most uniform combos don't translate from the computer screen. We haven't done a combo that I haven't liked so far.
Wonder when they will release the new uniforms to the public? Maybe like last year, the week before gameday on twitter?
We aren't getting new uniforms this year. Just another helmet color or possibly two. I guess new uniforms won't be until 2018 now.

I know we're not getting the "new" uniforms this year, and will have to wait until next year for those, but CMC and others have said there will still be some new tweeks we'll see this year.
So what does everyone expect we'll see added this season? I'm still thinking, and hoping, that we'll finally see a gold helmet added. I don't care if we add a gray helmet or not, but we better have a gold helmet option if we're going to have a gray helmet option IMO.
Outside of that, I would also like to see us add a stripe down the middle of all the helmet options, like we have on the white helmet.

I would not be surprised to see a gray helmet that goes with the gray uniforms. I also wouldn't be surprised to see a gold helmet. I would be surprised to see any uniform changes this year. Maybe that's what makes things interesting: low expectations but excellent results.
