Conference Prediction for ISU

Heh, I'm happy to be wrong. But in my defense, something with the team has changed, specifically the emergence of an inside presence. Without that, we don't win some of the latest games we've taken.

I have them beating Vanderbilt on the road for their final non con game and predict they will go 11-7 in conference and finish 20-10.

I am counting on continued improvement on offense and a more consistent effort on defense. I think this team will continue to get better the more it learns to play with each other.

Missed on the Vanderbilt part but looks likely they finish 11-7.

Happy to be wrong! Our trajectory at the time was NIT. You quoting me doesn't make me a fool, nor does it make you an unquestioning prophet. We're entitled to opinions.

Prohm has shown that he IS clever enough to steal games and I couldn't be more excited about the trajectory of this team - a team that STILL has the worst set of bigs we've seen in a quarter century, btw.

My updated projection, thru 2-20 (note: admittedly, my previous order-of-finish had us losing to Tech)
1. Kansas (15-3)
2. West Virginia (12-6) Defeated Iowa State based on head-to-head record.
3. Iowa State (12-6) Lost to West Virginia based on head-to-head record.
4. Baylor (11-7)
5. Oklahoma State (9-9)
6. Kansas State (8-10)
7. TCU (7-11)
8. Texas Tech (6-12)
9. Oklahoma (5-13) Defeated Texas based on record against #2 teams.
10. Texas (5-13) Lost to Oklahoma based on record against #2 teams.

I don't think our trajectory was ever NIT. People just freak out when we lose

At 13-9 it certainly was. Regardless, this team has rallied in a way that Fred's weren't able to by beating good teams on the road. We're a six seed right now, and that's damn good considering where we were.

I never thought this was an NIT team. Too good of guards and we've defended all year

Did anyone in this mostly debbie downer megathread predict winning @KU?

We also have the extremely unlikely (but mathematically possible) chance to win the outright Big 12 title.
1. Iowa State (13-5)
2. Kansas (12-6) Defeated Baylor based on head-to-head record.
3. Baylor (12-6) Lost to Kansas based on head-to-head record.
4. West Virginia (10-8)
5. Oklahoma State (9-9)
6. TCU (8-10) Defeated Kansas State based on record against #1 teams.
7. Kansas State (8-10) Lost to TCU based on record against #1 teams.
8. Texas Tech (7-11)
9. Oklahoma (6-12)
10. Texas (5-13)
----> I'm not sure this is be a better scenario for resume-strength, compared to what might realistically occur. But it'd be fun!
(Yes, I know, KU is not going 0-4 down the stretch. Humor me).

That's how I see it too. Semifinals to be Kansas vs. Okie State and Iowa State vs WVU.
