Velo (wearing blue): ...and that is why Bill Self has done such an impressive job at KU.
Carvers: Have a Bill Self booger picking gif. When you defend Bill Self you sound like a Jayhawk.
<Velo posts booger gif>
Carvers: Better?
Velo (now wearing cardinal): Better!
I think two other reasons are the ability to test yourself against the best and the challenge. There are good coaches in college, but I'd say the NBA has better coaches. Plus, it's more difficult to win an NBA championship in my opinion, both of those are probably big draws.Other than the cash, why would anyone want to coach in the NBA. As you get older, you realize that some so called promotions are just really sucky jobs that pay more. Fred should have returned to a NBA front office job if he didn't want to coach in college anymore.

I saw a study that said after abojt 70k for a family of four money matters a lot less for job satisfaction than enjoying what you do and your bosses.
I think it might be time for a refresher on what statement is on the record. Things are getting twisted as Fred publicly proclaiming his hatred of recruiting:
"Not that I hated recruiting," Hoiberg said, "but as an NBA coach, it's just coaching. I love going to practices and coaching the games and that's what you get to do as an NBA coach."
And the NBA is loving him right back!I think it might be time for a refresher on what statement is on the record. Things are getting twisted as Fred publicly proclaiming his hatred of recruiting:

The Bulls fans who aren't already on board the Fred hate train will hop on now that the media tide has turned. Surely the Bulls wouldn't fire him after only two years, would they?Even the late night silly shows on ESPN calling Fred out.
He doesn't care, because $$$.The Bulls fans who aren't already on board the Fred hate train will hop on now that the media tide has turned. Surely the Bulls wouldn't fire him after only two years, would they?

He maybe didn't totally hate it, but the battles to get players had to be frustrating. Besides, Matt A. had to practically beg him to go see some recruits. Saying "its just coaching" pretty much tells all. Recruiting plus the tons of appearances/luncheons/fan tours/guest speaking/etc/etc. He just wants to coach. He'll be fine. Imo, they aren't going to fire him and owe him 15 million. Think they will gut the team this offseason and rebuild, and he will direct the resurgence!
