Good question. Before the draft the rumors were Butler for the #4 pick where the Bulls wanted Kris Dunn, right? That doesn't make much sense for Chicago now. I guess it would be more about gauging just how much Thibs is willing to part with, if anything. By now he might want to stand pat and let his young team grow up. They're on a pretty good timeline right now. Adding Butler would mean win now expectations. I don't know if they're ready for that.

I have a hard time seeing Thibs being willing to do anything close to a fair deal with the team that screwed him over. He may see this as a chance to drive the knife in and try to get Butler at a low point though. The Bulls main problem is if you move Butler, you have zero core guys to build around. Everyone else is either old or not good enough , or both, to be considered a building block. I really don't know where they go from here.

Watching the Bulls post game last night, it looked like Fred could not wait to get away from the mike. It looked painful for him and I'm sure he wished the only part of his HC job was just coaching.
