Even in other games that we have won it still seemed like the team had no identity. And there was still a reason to be worried. It's not like this team fixed all its problems but with NWB and Solomon young getting an actual chance it at least feels like the the team took a step or two in the right direction.

Admittedly I didn't pay much attention for the first 10 or so min of the 2nd half, but what did Thomas do to get rewarded with no playing time for the last half of the 2nd half other than the free throws?

Note I'm not complaining, merely wondering if it was lack of something on the floor.

Saw CW tweet about a foot issue (not serious). Probably that combined with rewarding the hot hands.

CSP just rode the lineup that got into a rhythm. I don't think Thomas played so poorly but Jackson and Babb really brought the energy in that 2nd half run.

I didn't read comments during the game but enjoyed them afterward. A few of my thoughts:

* CSP rode the group that got them back into and I don't think he substituted until MT went in for ball-handling and FT shooting in the last minute or so.
* Defensive energy was great from NWB and DJ.
* Young now seems better on D than Bowie and his minutes are going to grow. Holden is not going to see much playing time, I'm guessing.
* MT was a bit off but some people are calling for him to come out of the starting lineup. I think that's unlikely and, well, kind of crazy. He's a heady ballplayer that does a lot of things beyond shooting 3's.
* I LOVE Naz attacking the rim. He played a smart 2nd half and wasn't just launching 3's early in the clock. NWB also had 2 strong drives for buckets during the comeback.
* We are going to get KILLED on offensive boards by most of the Big 12.
* Monte is still "the guy" and is a solid decision-maker.

This team may grow and surprise some of us. Every Big 12 game may be a struggle though.

Not even close... the MVP of this game is Naz. Burton, Thomas, and Holden could learn something from Naz on how to play in your senior season.

Except Naz was terrible the first 30 minutes or so. He keeps chucking up contested threes early in the shot clock. Glad he finally started driving. This whole team needs to move on offense and drive more.

I can't believe that the Cyclones only had 10 assists all game and still won. Where was the ball movement and actual flow on offense in the first half?

We missed a LOT of wide open shots - especially in the first half. Perhaps we would have had 5 or 6 more assists if we make those shots (many of those attempts went in and out).

That was much better to see some ball movement, especially when the team was going on a run I saw us pass up a couple of chances to take super hard contested long 2's (you know the shots that make everyone go, not this junk again). We started the game by really going after mid range post ups and never went back to it but boy could those be huge for this team especially once we figure out mis-matches. Heck even Holden got a post up that led to a great shot (dont think it went in but still a great shot is a great shot). Do wish we posted up Young from time to time or hit him when he's open coming off of screens.

Normally i agree but that those were the best looks we were getting at the time. This offense gets mired to easily.

I love reading these threads when I can't be involved live. It's seriously just a bunch of teenage girls being mad about this boy they like that doesn't like them back.

There's no one to wipe off the black eyeliner and turn down the emo music when the babies get what they want and then it's "well well...effort and rebounds still concerned about how worried I am" when the ***** train can't go any farther down the line.

He's mentioned that he's had a drug problem in the past. Hope that's not what is going on with his weird postings.
