Random Thoughts VIII: The Ocho

I was off by only 4 points but for most part I was dead on. I may just have found my calling. :)

I remember after the 1Q thinking "Well at this pace, we're winning 40-12." Kinda close.

Some cool things; I gave the best man speech in honor of my brother, the reception venue looked fantastic after many hours of hard work, and also my mom wanted to do surprise everyone with choreograph mother/son dance which we nailed.

Okay, who let the ninja cutting onions into my apartment at 8:00 this morning?

We just finished watching everything we taped. Question: where the hell did S3E2 go???? We missed the whole battle at the CDC, the submarine, the reappwarance of Escorpion, etc...

Looks like they just leaped ahead and are just going to fill in via recap or flashbacks.

No, IMDb lists S3E1 and S3E3 but no S3E2, and I don't remember where, but I found a complete episode description elsewhere online. It was bizarre!

I'm still fuzzy - sorry. S3E2 was combined with S3E1. It was S2E15 that got chopped off after the very first scene where they meet Auntie at the "CDC" in the woods near the ocean:

All Good Things Must Come to an End
Los Angeles! Our Heroes drive through the abandoned city on their way to the coordinates of the mobile CDC lab given to them by Citizen Z. They head up towards Malibu where they discover the CDC lab isn't just a lab...it's a submarine! Dr. Merch welcomes our Heroes aboard and not a moment too soon as the Zeros show up hot on their heels. It's a bittersweet moment as Murphy says goodbye to the rest of our Heroes. As they leave Murphy and the fate of humanity with Dr. Merch, one question lingers; is this really the end of our grand adventure?

Went to the dog park, stopped at pet smart (Lulu is now 45.4 lbs) & gave her a bath, now doing laundry. All before 11 a.m.

Slowly working on building up my liquor cabinet. Already got some fancy tequila an employee bought me (I'm not a tequila guy, so if anybody knows drinks, let me know. Shots don't count because I'm not 22 years old or at a bar), got some bourbon already. Bought some gin and vodka (Tanquerray makes vodka now? It was on sale at HyVee for 12 bucks, so I figured what the ****, why not?) and bought a bottle of Pinot Grigio. Not a wine guy, but figured that's probably at least a safe wine choice. Got my Rose's lime juice and some tonic and olives. Really just need some rum, a bottle of scotch, some Kahlua and maybe some Bloody Mary fixtures and I think I'm set.

You should probably swing by Home Depot and start pricing materials for the stable you are going to have to build to house this growing beast. How does your apt complex feel about outbuildings and livestock? :)

I haven't weighed her since July 31st, and in that time she's only gained 1.5 lbs. I'd be surprised if she gets that much bigger.

My productivity today was slowed down by new girl on Netflix.

What do people think of realtor signs being placed in property owner's yard w/o asking permission?

Had an "Open House" sign placed in the corner on the property yesterday morning. No time, no day information on the sign. Just the realtor sign with OPEN HOUSE on the top.

We were home all day yesterday. Why wouldn't they have the courtesy to come to the door and ask? I would have said 'yes, thanks for asking me.' I feel that without asking they are trespassing. No, it's not on the verge between the sidewalk and the street. There are no sidewalks.

Sign is/was still there this morning. I mowed at noon today and had to move it. It collapsed and I just left it there flat on the grass.

True confession. 25 years ago I had a similar situation (at a different property). I took the sign down and threw it into the balcony of the garage.

I wonder how the realtor would feel if I placed a nice big YARD SALE sign in their yard next time I'm holding one?

Hubby had some good tequila, that is all gone now so just have the cheap stuff for margaritas. I thought I was being all sneaky and smart and bought him some nice rum (went off the suggestion of the guy at Cyclone Liquors, they always talk like they know about it so I trust them). He was out, so he bought himself some different nice rum. So now we need to get to making rum drinks. When is CG coming to Ames the?

Speaking of that, she should be here today. I have extra volleyball tickets. I am taking my youngest 2 while the 11yr old is a game helper and the oldest plays for the championship of their softball tournament this weekend.

I lived near a realtor once that used to put flags in everyone's yard twice a year. American flags for 4th of July and some sort of Halloween flag. Within a day or two the flags would be blowing around the neighbor hood. So his shameless self promotion was causing the American flag to be getting run over in the street which pissed me off.
These flags each had a little card saying this was courtesy of Joe Blow realtor with his address.

One night I printed a sign that said "Keep your ******* **** off my property" Then went around the neighbor hood in the middle of the night collecting all his flags and stuck them all over his property. That put an end to that.
