Ah, hell, more rain.

ah hell here we go again.JPG

Anyone else notice that the weather has kinda gone to hell since Pants returned to the midwest. Worried some about winter snowfall with him in the Cities now.

I may be close to getting banned on another board. It is an aviation forum so I posted the Leath story and one guy made a comment about how Leath sounds as sleazy as Hillary. So I responded with all Raseter and Brandstads stuff and pointed out that they are all republicans. A mod is getting mad at me for responding with that. He pointed out that it is against site rules so I just informed him that I will be more than happy to report political posts in the future.

Well I arrived in Ames late last night and it appears that not everything has floated away...must be a good omen. Go State!

Any RTTers are welcome to swing by the Team NAD bus in lot D4 before or after the game and say hello. I won't be able to stay too long after the game because Minnesota.

Would've stopped by but just saw this.

Cell got a new wallpaper, kiddos with the Davis brothers.

You cheat on CF?

Hey if anyone else wants to debate what planes best fits my mission I am open to suggestions.

Box-Is it true that the Corps of Engineers always uses sea level for the 0 datum point for its guages?

Kinda, the current '88 datum is something like .50 foot different from the old 1929 datum. Gets confusing when you have old plans and elevations and have to convert to the new or at least not get them mixed up. Both were based on in-depth calc of what "sea level" is (If I got it right).

To totally geek out:

The Sea Level Datum of 1929 was named the National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 on May 10, 1973. (Geodetic Glossary, pp. 57) The Sea Level Datum of 1929 is a vertical control datum in the United States by the general adjustment of 1929.

Mean sea level was held fixed at the sites of 26 tide gauges, 21 in the United States and 5 in Canada. The datum is defined by the observed heights of mean sea level at the 26 tide gauges and by the set of elevations of all bench marks resulting from the adjustment. A total of 106,724 kilometers of leveling was involved, constituting 246 closed circuits and 25 circuits at sea level.

The datum was not mean sea level, the geoid, or any other equipotential surface. Therefore, it was renamed in 1973, the National Geodetic Vertical Datum on 1929. (Geodetic Glossary, pp. 56)

The North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD 88) is the vertical control datum established in 1991 by the minimum-constraint adjustment of the Canadian-Mexican-United States leveling observations. It held fixed the height of the primary tidal bench mark, referenced to the new International Great Lakes Datum of 1985 local mean sea level height value, at Father Point/Rimouski, Quebec, Canada. Additional tidal bench mark elevations were not used due to the demonstrated variations in sea surface topography, i.e., the fact that mean sea level is not the same equipotential surface at all tidal bench marks.

Hey, GTO and KC, Z Nation watching with some foods and wine.

We have one or two more from last season to finish watching, then we've been recording this season. :)
@BoxsterCy
We just finished watching everything we taped. Question: where the hell did S3E2 go???? We missed the whole battle at the CDC, the submarine, the reappwarance of Escorpion, etc...

Long ass day, moving day was from 8 to 6:30. Got enough done I don't have to go back tomorrow.

Happy Wedding day to @MLawrence!

Thanks Rulzzz! The wedding day went smoothly. The only real problem was the groomsmen were only suppose to wear vest instead of a suit jacket, but one of the groomsmen shirt was a little too snug and ripped it when he tried to tie his shoe. Luckily we had the jackets and all the groomsmen wore 3 piece suits.

No joke but when we first got the key to our reception venue, I went around the exterior perimeter and used about 7 cans of Raid to kill about 100 wasps/hornets. This place had a wedding last week and I am shocked nobody noticed them before I did.

Some cool things; I gave the best man speech in honor of my brother, the reception venue looked fantastic after many hours of hard work, and also my mom wanted to do surprise everyone with choreograph mother/son dance which we nailed.

All in all it went well, and even the rain came at the right time.
