My daughter is stealing my veggies again. I feel like I can't complain because I'm kind of proud of these choices.

Thanks for the birthday wishes.
Unfortunately having maybe the worst birthday ever. The city guys were trimming back trees on the streets and before I noticed what was happening they absolutely destroyed the decades old white cedars that screen my house from the alley. I am literally sick to my stomach. 30 years of green gone in 5 minutes. It's going to probably run at least $2000 to $4000 for new plants and a cedar fence and that will not even begin to replace what they cut.

Interesting day. My manager resigned unexpectedly and in flag football we pissed the game down our leg in the last two minutes. Now we are cleaning for the ISU band peeps tomorrow night while realizing it is pointless because LittleWx and the daycare kids will still be here tomorrow.
If you forgot to shut off your gas fireplace before bed on Christmas Eve, your gifts would be delivered by Crisp Kringle.
Well sounds like a career advancement is now available. Good luck if you apply for it.
It would be pretty tempting to head up to one of the rooftop patios in Uptown when the game is out of hand about a quarter-and-a-half into it. Also, there's probably more beautiful people in Uptown. Conversely, there's certainly more hipsters in Uptown.Everyone apparently hates the locations but no one has better spots. I actually like both spots but I might be the only one. People don't like Senser's because it isn't all ISU all of the time and we sometimes have space conflicts with other school (talking about you Nebraska!). They don't like Uptown cause the staff has not been great or responsive and parking is a pain and it's not really set up as a sports bar with uber big screens.
I like Senser's because of the big screens and the fact the manager has been really accommodating to us for years. If I was a 20-something I'd probably like Uptown better. I think the food is better at Uptown, Senser's food isn't very good.
So, Pants, in conclusion: If you want to watch the game come to Sensers'. If you and your bro want to chase skirts you should go to Uptown. Uptown will be convenient to your new home digs.
I'm impressed... and you threw in an anywhoodles.that was really long.

Kickball is back!
kickball started again last night. It was on a new field and further from the parking lot than we knew so DH and I got there 1 minute late.
They were already part way through the bottom of the first inning and when we had been up, like 6 of our people kicked so not a quick 3 and out. I was like da hell? Normally the first game of the season they go over a few reminders and rules - which is exactly what the field closer to the parking lot was doing at that moment. Being conducted by the league manager, I might add. Whatever. So we've got like 130 girls on the team this season so I kicked twice in the game. I got on base both times with good kicks. Though I had a couple pitches that I thought were clearly balls get called strikes. The second one was waaaay off the plate and I turned around to the ref to be like do you need glasses or something? Then DH yelled from the bench "no lines" and I realized yeah, there were no lines around home plate to mark the strike zone, no foul lines, no bunt line - no nothing. So yeah, I just kicked after that because unless it was 10ft off the plate, no way to tell. I thought the ref could have at least dug lines around the home plate or something. When we walked out by the other field that ref had painted lines for home plate at least.
So anyway, besides my two nice kicks, I had two balls I probably could have caught that I did not so more working on catching in the yard at home is in order. Oh yeah, after I got on first (beating the ball there), the next person kicked and I took off for 2nd. It went foul so I came back. Guy guarding first yelled to 2nd base "watch out 2nd, this one on 1st has wheels." Darn straight. Too bad person behind me always got out and I never "got" to 2nd.
DH had a kick he popped straight up. Like, way up. Serious hang time straight up and down. We all groaned cause they had been catching well and nope, it came down practically on the line between 1st and 2nd and they weren't even close to catching it. IDK what they were doing there.
Another girl on our team had two great catches. One was like line drive and she just stuck her arms out and snatched it as it tried to go by her. It was great. DH was like "be like her". Thanks, I'll try.
Part way through the game (I was on the bench), the other team had two guys go up in a row and after the 2nd guy kicked a strike, someone in our outfield yelled to the pitcher about it. So the pitcher asked about it and they're like it's the bottom of the order. Guy in outfield (the captain, who can be overbearing) was like don't they have to alternate? pitcher relays that and ref is like no, they're good. ok, cool, play on.
Well, guy going to kick pretty much flips out. He's like "you don't get to ***** about this part way through the game! " repeated several times and I'm not sure if he was drunk or not because he was waaaaaaay more upset than was necessary. So, still ********, he goes to kick and completely whiffs it.
Goes for the third time, completely misses the ball again. It was pretty funny though I don't think he thought so.
Anywhoodles, we won like 5-1 , not really sure since the score wasn't visible anywhere. Surprise, surprise, we were done a whole 15 minutes early (that never happens) so they let us play more. I'm guessing they started at least 5 minutes early, if not 10.
This new field is apparently in genetically engineered mosquito land cause they were horrendous. I got a couple bites before someone pointed out the deet. sprayed that on - even overtop my pants.
Counted when I got home and I had 9 bites. Several through my deet-laden pants. So I think the mosquitoes were really the winners.
this project with this vendor will never be done. We finally got a realistic timeline out of them and it's early next spring if everything goes well with zero delay. Hahahahaha. The PM is like I think they've just been telling us what we want to hear in regards to all the other completely blown deadlines. Yeah, kinda figured on that one already.
I mean, that's what I've been thinking anyway because I was already fairly certain the end of this year wasn't feasible anyway.
At what point do I mention to my manager that DH and I are seriously contemplating a trip abroad for a good portion of late May/early June so that I can be off the hook for that now when May 1st rolls around and they are like whoopsies, we need to work with CG during that time frame like they did with our trip this summer? Maybe I'll do that on our work trip next week.
I suppose coworker just spent 2-3 weeks out of the country and they worked on other stuff even though they needed to work with her. Whatevs, coworker already pushed that trip back six months because of an accident and they were aware well in advance.
TGIF.
