Calm down, this could actually be a good thing... let me explain..... Lots of stuff has happened since last time the ACC had to think about inviting WVU.

And it would likely mean that the B1G and/or SEC raided the ACC. That is much more preferable to them raiding our conference. If say UVA and UNC went to the B1G or NC State/Va Tech went to the SEC (or both), then it would likely open up the path for WVU to the ACC and that would be a good thing, IMO.

WVU has ZERO impact on the B12's stability, IMO. Texas, OU and KU are the only three that matter in the B12's future. If they are committed, then WVU is just a replaceable piece.

Geographically, it may make sense for the B12 to invite teams that would help us dominate the Central and Mountain time zones. It would possibly make WVU a little mad, but I can live with them in the ACC.

Well it means that they have a larger focus on research. Don't know that translates directly to being a better school. But for conferences like the Big10, research is what they are judging schools by.

If you read into methodologies of ranking universities, you'll realize that these ranking systems are kind of bunk. A slight switch of methodologies could result in vastly different rankings. Plus they are well know to be biased towards universities on the coasts, and areas with a higher cost of living. In addition, ISU and FSU are only 10ish positions apart in these rankings.

Also, the only thing I've really heard people associate with FSU is a strong teacher education program. ISU's peer in the state of Florida is the University of Florida, which is the state's land grant institution. Florida is way ahead of FSU academically, and right on par with ISU in terms of agriculture, engineering, and the sciences, with the exception that Florida has a hospital.

Frankly I was surprised FSU was even ranked that high, but I can tell you that they are not better academically than ISU.

WVU will never end up in the ACC because their academics do not stack up. If the Big 12 crumbles, WVU's only hope of staying in a P4 conference would be the SEC - but if the SEC actually wanted WVU they'd already be there.

Notre Dame is on ACC and they aren't aau accredited. So why wouldn't WV get in ACC.

US News has very questionable metrics such as the # of schools which mark your school down as a peer and the rejection rate of applicants--both junk metrics.
