Alright, let's see....

Whatever Else - Not a whole lot, year end review was today, still single as hell, and signed up for a 5k in November.

You are going to need to specify what shoes you are wearing. This will be important to CG.

FYI, the cool kids  are running in Asics Gel-Nimbus.

Slightly more awesome when this douchebag yelling at the counter girl and wearing the "Make America Great Again" hat boards and leaves, though.

It's pretty surprising how many total d-canoes you see at airline counters....always mad about something that is typically totally out of the control of the poor employee they are barking at.

Someone from Central City Care Center, a nursing home in Central City, Nebraska, tried to call me at 3:45 this morning. :confused:Didn't wake up.

Hope they got hold of the right person, though.

Flying is such an exercise in frustration. But I agree that getting mad at the service counter people doesn't help the situation.
We were flying back from Orlando once quite a while ago. Naturally the guys decided to get to the airport early and see if they can get on an earlier flight. So we get an earlier flight that is delayed so we miss the connecting flight in Chicago. I walk up to the service counter and told him I missed my connecting flight due to a delay and asked if he could get me onto the next flight. He got me on my original connecting flight back to Omaha. One of the other guys walks up and says something like, you guys made me miss my flight so what are you going to do about it. He got back to Omaha from Chicago via Detroit.

I think I'm gonna re-route my trip
I wonder if anybody'd think I'd flipped
If I went to LA by Omaha?

Your connecting flight just happened to be the one flight out of Chicago that actually left on time. Tough luck on that one.

Last year I spent the night in DFW with a couple thousand of my closest friends and it's amazing how, in general, at 3AM you don't find as many of the pissed off people. The lady rebooking our flights in the middle of the night was especially pleasant and helpful. It's like it crosses a line at some point and everyone bands together as one team.

Alright, let's see....

Pies/Baking - Been practicing/getting ready for the Texas State Fair next month by baking random things. Gonna enter 10 categories and the No Rules Chili competition this year I think. Depending on my travel schedule.

Travel - Got back from my month long euro trip. Absolutely awesome time. Job wise, had a remote, stay at home project the last month so haven't done anything but Dallas.

Credit Cards - Well a new Chase one came out today that I applied for.

Cougars - Went to the MILF bar in Dallas the other weekend, was a good time

Pillows - still same set of pillows, though I've had comments on people not liking the touch of red. They called it "drug dealerish" I was thinking cyclones but the color scheme might change.

I signed up to volunteer at a 5K in October. I have to be there at 6:00 am. We're going to the "I Love the 90's" concert that night. Will Spinderella think less of me if I'm half asleep during their set?

I think it's pretty much a general rule, that if you're a **** to someone, they aren't going to go out of their way to accommodate you. I wouldn't, in that position.

These accommodations seem like a good idea until the giant, pink octopus decides to incessantly play ding-dong-ditch at your door.

Similar experience with a cancelled flight in Atlanta while traveling with CWW#2. In line at the gate with lots of bitchy businessman. When we got to the counter I did some small talk and told the guy we get it and no worries since CWW#2 had worked for the airlines. Got the evil eye from CWW#2 but it started a conversation and it turns out the guy and CWW#2 had both worked for Wien Airlines (now defunct) back in the day in Alaska. Next thing you know we are on a flight and bumped up to 1st class. I am guessing the f'bombing guy in front of us did not fare as well.

Anyone that gets belligerent with people that handle either their food or their luggage get what they deserve.

One of the coolest things I've seen happened in a bar and grill in South Bend. This waitress spilled a tray of drinks at this table and soaked this one guy. He was having dinner with his wife and they were dressed up fairly nicely. The waitress looked terrified and was apologizing like crazy.

This guy starts laughing, looks at the waitress and says, "I'll have another round, but I'll take it on the table if you don't mind."

The manager comes out, says they'll pay for his meal, dry cleaning, etc. and this guy just continues on with his meal, soaked from shoulder to toe, like it's no big deal.

The couple finished up and left a minute before we did. As we walked by his table to leave, I glanced down and saw a $50 on the table with a note saying, "I hope your night gets better."

What is it about going to sleep that automatically makes my teeth feel grimy? I can go all day and they're fine, but fall asleep for three hours at night and suddenly it feels like I haven't brushed in weeks.
