Random Thoughts VIII: The Ocho

Saw a car with Missouri plates on our way up to Des Moines. It had an Iowa State decal on one side of the back window, and a Jaysquawk decal on the other side. Both of our brains hurt from seeing that. Worst than an Iowa State/EIU both on a car? Then, saw an EIU vanity plate with "JAYHAWK" on it on the way home. That's either evil squared, or multiplying zeros...take your pick.

Also, Boxster, thought of you when I saw a t-shirt at the fair worn by a gentleman that said "Landscape Architect: We do it outside."

At the in-laws for lunch and they just brought up discussing the vacation. Will sit here with my mouth shut and hope they don't ask me anything or **** may hit the fan.

What's the vacation and what's the problem?

Orlando parks. Thanksgiving week with the in-laws.

Would have said the vacation is ok but the people stink.

I really hope it goes well but I am not holding my breath. No matter what it wouldn't be my ideal vacation just because it is get up and get to the parks for the whole day rinse and repeat. I am prefer a more laid back and relaxed kind of thing. I wouldn't mind Florida but if I were planning it we would be closer to the beach and just relaxing on the beach or pool, going snorkeling, NASA, fishing etc.

Just heard a Muzak version of "Jim Dandy to the Rescue"
It's just not the same without Ruby Starr belting out "Go Jim Dandy, GOOOO!!!"

My thoughts after driving I-94 up to lake country and back this weekend:

"Hey, MnDOT, EABOD's!" I actually shouted this to no one when stuck in the 10 mile mess by St. Cloud. Crawled by the 60 mph in a construction zone sign with it's radar registering my speed and warning of $300 fine. I was going 4 mph at the time and that was up from the dead stop that I had dozens of times over this 15 mile patience test. So, yah, **** you MnDOT as we are in one lane staring across at the completed lanes that are blocked off. No idea why they weren't open to traffic, even the new topsoil and seeding was in.

Watching the closing ceremonies got me wondering. What would an American ceremony be like? Twerking and rap music?

Quick Kansas City review. BBQ Bus tour was fun. WW1 memorial/museum is really neat if you enjoy history. Boulevard Brewing has a new tap room and revamped the tour a little bit. Art museum was interesting it is also sort of a history museum with lots of Chinese artifacts, it was pretty good, better because it is free.

Also now trying to fix my stupid blonde moment on our flights for the trip. Looking at these prices makes it tempting to just fly us ourselves.

Well if you fly yourselves I know there will be 2 days (sort of) of the vacation you'll enjoy. :)

Yeah but there is also the probably 10-12 hours one way of flight time in a 172 going 120mph with a nearly 2 year old....I think we will go with the airlines.

I took a picture of the radar saying 6 when we crawled by a month ago. It won't upload for some reason.
