I find it fascinating that the new trailer seems to deal a lot with "perception" rather than straight up magic - almost that these powers are still 'grounded' from a physics perspective. I think that will help ease the audience in that this isn't really "hocus pocus" rather than some cross of Theoretical Physics and highly-focused mysticism.

With that said, apparently there will be some other dimension type stuff for sure, which will finally introduce the multi-verse into the MCU.

As for the animated Dr. Strange movie, yeah, I've heard nothing but great things about it. With that said, I've already opted to not see it before the live-action movie, simply because I'm kind of looking forward to coming in clueless to the movie. Makes it more fun. However, after the movie, I'll likely check out that animated movie as I'm still interested.

I'm glad they're bringing the web shooters back instead of just being an "ability" of Spider-Man's. I always liked the fact that Peter developed them and had to reload them from time to time, it showed how much of a science nerd he was on top of being a super hero.

I do wish they were more concealed though, instead of being outside of the costume and visually obvious.

Agree.

Personally, I'm not a fan of how they look. It seems like they are just setting up their marketing department for the toy release of "All-New SpiderMan Xtreme Web Shooters" .

That was one the things I liked most about the Amazing Spider-Man movies. It showed off Peter Parker's intelligence to make the web shooters in the first place.

I actually just re-watched Sam Raimi's Spider-man yesterday with my 4 year-old. That movie was great. My daughter was jumping at a lot of parts, she was terrified of Green Goblin, but was equally terrified of the image where it showed the barbs coming out of Peter Parker's fingers when he first figures out that he can scale walls. It's funny that watching it when it was first released I never really thought of the movie being shot in a studio, but watching it again you can tell all of it was shot in a cramped studio. There's not a lot of horizontal space for the characters to move around and it makes every scene feel "restrictive." Oh yeah, and Macy Gray was in it - that just says how old that movie is...

Luke Cage is looking pretty good! No reason to doubt Netflix on this one either.

Naw, no doubt. I'm not fully convinced that it is exactly my cup of tea, but that is what I appreciate about the Marvel stuff, because I like variety. I don't want the exact same thing for everything and this isn't the same thing. It has a very urban classic Harlem feel to it.

My wife and I watched the Luke Cage trailer last night - I was not expecting that. It looks amazing. I think there may have been a brief clip that was very reminiscent of the hallway fit scene in DareDevil, S1E2 - only this was Luke Cage just messing people up.

Now, getting back to Doctor Strange, I was a little disappointed to stumble upon this:

The trailers kind of gave the impression that Dr. Strange's power could have been a form of worm-hole manipulation or some other kind of 4th dimension. I just thought would lead to an interesting setup between Dr. Strange, Thor, Bruce Banner, and Tony Stark if they were to discuss the blurred lines between science and magic.
 
Saw Civil War for a second time in theaters last night with a buddy of mine who still hadn't seen it. With that said, that movie is still so good and so much fun. I can't say it was better the second time overall due to the newness of it being gone, but it is still very solid and re-watchable. With that said, after a second time, I can't say my rankings of it has changed at all. The Winter Soldier is still a better movie with a better plot and a better ending. However, Civil War's best attribute is its fun factor, which is still probably #1 of all the MCU movies.
 
So is it true that Hulk is in the new Thor movie?

Great if true, i'm assuming it'll make another match-up with "puny god".

Yes. There was a scene shown at comic with Bruce Banner being chased in a wooded area and it would cut to the Warriors Three fighting the same creatures/aliens. It might be up on YouTube, but the video was clearly taken by someone in the audience at Comic-Con, so Disney/Marvel may have taken it down.

The article doesn't exactly state, but I'm assuming this show will be part of the overall MCU right??? I could be wrong. I've known a couple things about this leading up to this:

1. Marvel TV has had multiple new TV shows they've been working on that nobody has been able to pinpoint as to what they were. This is apparently one of those.

2. I think I remember that Whedon and the whole Marvel crew have been trying since the very beginning to get Runaways out there. Shoot, I think they even wanted it as a movie and were even in development for a movie of it at one point. I could be a little off with my details there.

Any Runaways fans out there??? I really don't know much about them. Is anyone looking forward to this? Lastly, I kind of figured at this point that Marvel would stick mostly to either its own networks (ABC, Freeform, Disney... etc.) or Netflix for their own programming (been making more and more exclusive deals with them)... guess I was wrong.

Since I really don't want to start a new thread on this, and while it isn't Marvel related, but is genre related, I figure I'll ask it here. Has anyone checked out the new TV series "The Tick" over on Amazon by chance? If so, is it any good? Looks like they only have a pilot episode up right now, which seems kind of weird. How does that work? It almost seems like they throw out multiple pilots, people rank them, then they decide what to go with. Am I completely off-base with that? If so, are they the only ones who do this? Sorry, lots of questions.

FYI... I believe The Tick character is a comic superhero character that is independently published, so it isn't Marvel or DC

So, I finally got a chance to watch the Pilot episode of "The Tick" last night and I've got to say I really enjoyed it. Not only was the acting very good, but I thought the cinematography was great as well on the Pilot. Granted, one thing I don't like with many TV series is that they spend so much more money on the pilot always in order to draw people in, then back off their budget a ton for most of the futures episodes. Therefore, that is why sometimes the first episodes of stuff almost feel like movies, then later episodes feel so much more like a TV show. A recent good example of this was Preacher and I'd almost say the same for Agents of Shield Season 1 as well.

Anyway, to get back on track, I really loved "The Tick" because it seems well-made, well-acted, and is definitely different from most of what is out there right now for superhero flicks. In some ways, the show is kind of a parody on the genre, but not too strong on that. Truthfully, it almost felt like a live-action PG-13 version of The Incredibles, which is kind of a fun concept. Maybe, "The Tick" has always been that way through its previous TV show versions as well as its cartoon version, but I've never seen any of those, so I wouldn't know.

In the end, they've successfully got me hooked and I really hope the thing goes to series. Has anyone else watched the Pilot yet?

Again, sorry, this is in no way Marvel related.
