I wonder what kind of special permissions you need to compete as an independent?

I think they said being from Kuwait is one way to get special permission (their Olympic committee has been suspended. Kind of like the NCAA dropping sanctions/Death Penalty on a school - you don't punish the athletes unless they were part of the problem).

The olympics just reminds me how horrible my geography is. I haven't heard of half these countries let alone know what continent they are on. You could make a solid drinking game out of this.

Geography is one of my strong suits and I couldn't tell you where half of these countries are located.
