Random Thoughts VIII: The Ocho

Just got off a 1.5 hour conference call for a problem in the UK. Not sure what they were monkeying around with yesterday but they had something all out of whack.

So just me here now. All quiet except for me and Josie The Dog. The parental units of the two rascals took them on a visit to Como Park and the kids amusement stuff over there. This after a morning with two timeouts and counseling sessions with the six year old who seems to have ALL sorts of issues with behavior.

Old man Boxster ain't used to all of this non-stop drama so "volunteered" to dog sit Josie.

Littler dude is easier. He found a little squeeze Cy and has been playing with him all morning flying him around like a Marvel super hero. He's also kinda funny for a 4-year old.

Little: Who is this?
Boxster: It's Cy the Cyclone mascot.
Little: Cy!
Little: What's that? (points to fly swatter I had out)
Boxster: That's a fly swatter.
Little: Cy Swatter!

Buff kid, GTO

Been told I'm mean by the older one and toddler is extreme levels of neat freak.

Gotta do a bath time, get them to sleep yet.

If it helps, I'm about to make mine cry since it's bed time.
So bath time. Funny story, we hadn't yet uses the hot water in our main bathtub. I had turned it in several times to make sure it ran, but never waited for hot water. It turns out they didn't hook it up properly. So two naked kids plus me (in a swimsuit!) Into the shower! Easy enough to convince the older one it would be fine and she liked it. The toddler? We coaxed her far enough in that I could scrub her but couldn't get her in far enough to rinse or do hair. And I could dump a bowl on her but she was getting cold standing in the draft. Decided to grab her and go for it quick. She sobbed the whole time. Glared at me after dh wrapped her in a fluffy towel.

I got out and told dh I took one for the team there.

Mine loves and hates the shower by turns.

Oh boy, wait til I have time to tell my poopy diaper story.

Anyway, just got home and both fell asleep again. Successfully transferred the little one out of her car seat But big one is going to wake if we try to move. She needs to nap and won't if we wake her. So dh is chilling in the car with her for 20 minutes unless she wakes up. Good thing it's nice out today.

Have the parents agreed to pay the ransom?

Varies by age and value of car. Boxster is like $70-80 while new Audi was $500. Did a one time $48 collector plate for the old '87 924S.

Ouch. I know in Janesville, WI, you have to pay an additional fee per tire on cars and trailers. Yet they have a huge budget deficit.

Collector plates here are double the yearly fee.

Iowa is 1% of new value for first 7 years or so. Buy a new car for 50k, license is 500 bucks. Buy a new Cheapo for 15k and its 150 a year.

I own some songs by Rock Plaza Central, but for some reason I've never heard this cover from them until today. If you've never heard it, enjoy!

Iowa used to have a sweet deal for pickups. The annual fee or my one year old pickup back in 2001 was $55. It would have been roughly the same for someone with a pickup worth $50k. That loophole got closed.
