Random Thoughts VIII: The Ocho

I am one of only a few project managers at our office without a govt phone. I didn't travel that much for work, don't have a bunch of people reporting to me so didn't have the type of job that required 24/7 connection. Pretty sure if I worked in the sister branch to us that supervisor would have made me have one.

One less thing to turn in July 21.

Old people. It was amazing the stuff that my grandpa got duped for before we got him in an assisted living facility.

This. The callers are preying on folks with diminished capacity. I really hate those ****ers.

Speaking of bilked. Trying to get my product key for Office 2013 from Microsoft. Order though their home use program in 2014. They sent the # to my work email which was ***.us.army.mil but is now ***.usace.army.mil. the .us is no longer forwarded so I am probably ****ed since trying to get someone on the phone to help me just isn't going to happen. Anyone want a nice Office 2013 DVD with no product key?

just finished A Farewell to Arms by Hemmingway. maybe i don't understand it but there was more love than war in the book. not sure what all the fuss was about.
Sometimes Hemmingway's long sentences and mostly simple words make compelling reading. In Farewell to Arms they just make for a bunch of long, boring sentences.

Tried requesting this afternoon off, wanted to run to the outlet. It won't approve, so I did some shopping online, instead. Still need to go return something to the outlet mall, but that isn't a rush.

Not a Hemingway guy. Read The Sun Also Rises and I didn't like it and I knew I was supposed to have liked it.
