People on the autism spectrum often have extreme problems with social skills. Some can be very assertive, particularly when they don't have to look you in the eye. We knew a young man who had family in our church. He was an ISU grad...and very intelligent. He also had zero capacity to think outside the box. He used to come to game night at our church and I recall one time when I answered a Trivial Pursuit question about a boxer with "Cassius Clay" because the question referred to his Olympic medal. The game said the answer was Muhammed Ali, and he became quite irate when the other players said I had it right. In his mind, even though they were the same person Muhammed Ali was the answer on the card, and therefore my answer was wrong.

Some posters on here remind me of that young man. They have their thoughts and opinions, and they will cling to them to the bitter end.

Others are just stupid trolls.

Went for a bike ride with my dad this afternoon. That felt great! Just need to get it in for a 10 hour tune up and I should be set for the season.

Now I remember the name of that dbag. It was istatenation. He always referred to himself as "we" and claimed he had a team of people monitoring ISU athletics. Then someone outed him as the high school kid that ran the CycloneInsiders twitter. Just out of curiosity, I checked that twitter right now and my head almost exploded. It seems he renamed it MALOU (but still under CycloneInsiders) a while back. Check out this gem:

Thats been discussed before, but it doesn't appear to be the case. Unless he's learned new tricks to mask his identity.
 
I used to own guns (shotgun from when I thought I might start hunting, and .22LR for target stuff), got rid of them when I judged that the risks (with kids on the way) outweighed the benefits (live in a secure area, never did get into hunting)....so I support the right to keep and bear arms, but the NRA is wrong. The biggest threat to gun rights is not a liberal administration, it's the retreads that are too dumb to own guns but are allowed to....

My son ran on Thursday only, but his girls team won the team title. My wife has also become quite close to one of their star runners through church. We left after they announced the girls team awards.
 
For those keeping track at home, ribs were consumed at the 00clone household tonight. Ribs, I will surmise, are the penultimate of carnivorous consumption. There are no denials that you're eating the flesh of animal as you gnaw it off the bone. They were yummy.

Did the graduation circuit tonight. Last one was a Mexican fiesta, and I mean fiesta. Everything but a mariachi band, which was replaced with Spanish karaoke. Not sure what I ate but it was tasty.

Sitting in there, it kinda made me understand, slightly, what it's like for minorities in a small town. I didn't understand most.of the people, tried to not accidently offend anyone since we didn't know what their traditions are. Sat at a table with an older couple we knew and it was like the Caucasian table. We had helped.a little with their food prep this morning and everyone thanked us even though it was minute compared to the whole scheme.
 
My boss is hiring a guy that used to work for him about 6 years ago because his contract at the school he worked at didn't get renewed. Then the kid that's graduating high school will start next week. Maybe I will be able to apply for jobs sooner than I thought.
