I'm helping coach 10U slow pitch this year. It is so much more laid back than travelling baseball. I guarantee that none of the girls will have a temper tantrum this year (at least not about softball).

Our neighbor girl plays. She was their only player who could get a pitch across the plate last year. I went to a couple of her games and they could play pretty well but they would try to pitch anyone who wanted to and there were girls who would walk 5 or 6 before stringing together a couple of strikes. I know that is how they learn, but it was painful to watch.

Speaking of pitching, the weather warming up means that the neighbors are in the front yard again having screaming matches with their daughter over her pitching, effort, attitude, etc. They were at the recreation area last night while little00 had soccer practice, doing hitting practice. Thankfully not too much screaming there.

As I recall from the first daughter, and the director's are preaching it this year, it's best to be patient. Also, they now have the pitcher wear a mask. That's something new in the last 5 years.

gosh it looks so nice outside. Need to make up a reason to go take a walk. Probably almost be too warm running compared to what I'm used to.

Honestly I didn't even know girls played slow pitch. Googled and leagues in MPLS area came up, so now know it is a thing. ;)

Masks are becoming very common place now. When the oldest started playing tournament ball 3+ years ago she started wearing a mask; pretty much all girls on her team do. She even wears it in the outfield.

Last volleyball tournament of the season coincides with 1st softball tournament of the season. We told softball in Jan we were unavailable this weekend. She may be able to make the last softball game on Saturday, not sure how that will go after playing 3 volleyball games.

We really like our softball coach. He seems to subscribe to the Matheny principle where this is a process and if you focus on doing things the right way and developing players in all aspects of life, the wins will follow. While I agree, after 4 years of frustrating softball (not all with this team/coach) it would be nice to win a few.

Both our beater vehicles are 19 years old and owned for 16. My other work PU is 10 years and owned for 6-7 years. Our family vehicle is 5 and owned for 5. Bought one last summer for my son which is 20 years old but only 114k miles.

We only have fast pitch softball here. My daughter has her last year before HS ball. HS still doesn't have a coach though. Big pressure on my wife to do it, but she said she won't leave our daughters team for it. I made her wear a mask for 2-3 years now so she would be used to it.
