Random Thoughts VII 'Merica (RTTVII)

I thought I would follow up on the no-response women topic from last weekend. The one I'm really interested in ended up texting me Monday asking if I wanted to hang out. Of course I say yes and then I end up finding out that she never got my text asking her to dinner and was wondering if I didn't like her or something. Apparently she has terrible cell phone service at her apartment.

Anyways, after hanging out on Monday we made dinner plans for tonight but now she's sick and I have the onset of whatever she has...
But it was worth it.

Euphemism?

Never mind...it would be TMI!

This reminds me that I need to go try stellas.
Have any of you Twin Cities Clones been to Stella's in Uptown? Although locally owned, I wouldn't exactly describe it as a mom and pop kind of place. Anyway, they have great food and a fantastic rooftop patio.

I am too old to go to uptown anymore, especially Stella's rooftop.

Looked up USA car stats this morning. Average age of car in USA is 11.5 years and owned 6.5 years. Mine is 12 years old and owned for 10 years. Thought I was too far out of step and needed new wheels. Now not so sure.

Nope. I think the last time I had a daytime meal in Uptown it was at the Uptown Cafe and that was long before they closed about 7 years ago.

Scratch that, I had lunch with some coworkers at that Indian place (Passage to India?) about 8 or 9 years ago.

I wish Mrs. Velo was more adventurous in trying the greasy spoons. In my experience you encounter many more diamonds in the rough then bad dining experiences.
I have the same issue. If a greasy spoon has been around for a while there is a reason that it's been around for a while and, usually, it's not because they're selling contraband out of the back of the kitchen.

DH's is 12 and owned for ......7? I think? Mine is 7 and owned for almost 4.

We probably wouldn't be there ever either except that we've made it an annual outing to take the kids around the lakes once a summer.

By the way, is your daughter playing in the softball kickoff tournament next weekend? I see that our communities have combined their teams to form a bigger league.

MeanDean skewing those stats.

Wasn't going to mention Dean, specifically, but was thinking the same thing...if you take out the collector cars that aren't daily drivers, that comes down. Not sure how much, but I think it's really most valid data if you're talking actual cars that are functional transportation, not a collector's item.

No softball - traveling soccer and school track right now.

Anybody got the stats on Cuba?

Stella's Fish Cafe? my cousin was a manager there for a while, but he's moved on to Loop - I think.

Those stats could give car salesman a heart attack. Until November my car was 18 years old and I owned it for 6.5.
