Isn't that the same poster that had an issue with you previously because of the whole Kostas deal?

Waking up and not having any idea what you're going to wear to work is kind of annoying.

The puppy is dropped off to get spayed. She should feel good that I even opted for the $50 blood work to make sure she will handle the anesthesia well.

$50 for blood work is not expensive.

Would you skimp if it were your child?

I did once with my son getting tubes. Got a local in the dr office (and he could have me present) versus completely going under. (Had a rider on my insurance for ear tubes since he had 2 already). Cost me $900 for the whole proceedure and follow ups. Previous ones were over $5k without follow ups.

Probably would have skipped it with a kid too. Our normal vet (read wife likes it but it is freaking expensive) quoted us $650 to get her spayed. Over my dead freaking body. So I shopped around and the vet we went to growing up that is well respected will do spay and declaw for $300 (well $350 now with the blood work). The expensive vet does it laparoscopically. It is a damn standard procedure that they do countless times unless you have scientific proof that a significant percentage of patients have issues that the blood work could have prevented then it is just another upsell to me.

But I wimped out and got it for her.

55--did you have a puppy visit? I don't remember what you had planned. Yesterday one of my friends in Omaha liked an article on FB about some cat/kittens that had been rescued by the humane society. You could tell by the pic that the mom was a (domestic) Bengal. I contacted hubby's cousin who worked there and she put a quick hold on one for us. We previously had a 1/2 Bengal and mostly loved his personality. ;) But hubby said no. :( As soon as I saw them she went over to check them out (actually almost walked into a live TV interview--oops!) and got a temporary hold on one for us. If you ever do see a puppy you want to put a hold on, I got connections. :)

I think our guy is I that 200 area. Small town guy who isn't just small animal (does have a dedicated staff for it though) so he has the commercial livestock to take care of his overhead.

I'm driving to Adel on Saturday to meet some puppies and their mom, and then I have to pick one.

They're listed as terrier mixes, the puppies were found at 7 weeks and had some skin issues from their previous living conditions. They are so freaking cute.

This is mom

We debated driving out to Blairstown where it would have been done for under $200 but that is almost 3 hours for two trips out there and back so we just decided to pay a little more and stay in town.

Hey, I was just agreeing with you that the 600 guy was bending you and your wife over. I would have paid another 100 to avoid that long of a drive. Gas and time need to be factored in.

why it gotta be cold and nasty every weekend now? It's like the weather knows I just want 50 and nice. We had 50 and nice back on a weekend in February, dangit! And of course next weekend we have a birthday party so it'll be nice. Though that isn't til evening so that should give us time.

oh yeah, at trivia when they had the first Dr. Who question, my first thought was dammit I should have been in that mafia game, then I'd have a chance!

I watched dr who in junior high, so mid 80s. Thinking back now, that was some strange stuff and pretty low budget IIRC.
