To go along with previous comments, my best friend adopted a corgi a few years ago. She was rejected 4-5 times by rescues because it was her first dog and she didn't have a fenced in yard. She was willing to put in a fence for the dog, and had told them that, she just needed the height of the fence necessary and a few weeks to get it done.
She was so frustrated by the process, that she ended up with a corgi she found on craigslist that was being rehomed. That dog is 100% spoiled, and now best friend runs a corgi group in Omaha where they do tons of events.
