Man-Man's shoulder...

Yes.

Listening to his interview and to Prohm does not give me any confidence that he will be anything but a shell of himself.

It's very obvious there is a problem with his shoulder. Usually players and coaches do a good job of down playing injuries to make sure they do not let the other team expose a weakness. I don't think Prohm and Monte are being coy. If he's really hurting, wonder why he's playing at all.

Wonder if he ripped a muscle? I mean a bruise shouldn't take 2 weeks or more to heal up...they've got to give him a cortisone shot prior to game. That will take care of the pain.

Probably because a hurt Monte is better than no Monte. And it can't get hurt more.

You'd think a man of faith would be supportive of the power of belief (and this is not a religious post I've seen this the last couple years as a Royals fan)

Seems to go deeper than the shoulder ... he has struggled for a long time.

Averagnv shootng 30% and 3 turnovers per game over last 6 games.

Need him back

Nobody ever said it was a bruise. It is a strained rotator cuff.

Struggle is a bit overstating it before. But, yes, he had been in a slump. And I'm convinced by watching him that his hip/knee was bothering him much like it did after the Iowa game.

Per his comments, it sounds like he's hoping to get to 70-80%. Obviously bothering him a lot, but he's a tough kid. He'll fight through it and still be better than most.

I am thinking, okay, hoping, there is some gamesmanship going on here. I know he didn't have the offensive night we expect from him against OU but he was going hard on Def, that would be hard to do with a 50% wing.

I thought he was great on D. Didn't look all that hampered in his ball handling either. Just missed on some of his normal go to shots. Could be gamesmanship, but I'm pretty confident he won't be 100%.

No point in hiding it, Iona has game type of the Big 12 tourney. He couldn't even shoot a layup against Oklahoma. Hopefully with another week to heal up, he'll be improved, at least to a degree.

Indeed. Ironic he swished a three but couldn't finish a layup

I didn't really see an injury induced sub par performance against OU. It looked more akin to his performances at the tail of the season which I initial pegged as resulting from fatigue.

A week is the most rest they have had since December, right?
