like the ones with fur around the top? I noped out of DSW pretty fast. Decided since I want these to also be a pair I could use should I theoretically ever do winter activity things, that they need to be warm. I have a Cabela's, Gander, and ****'s all very close to me so I think that's where I'll head first. F&F is a bit further away.

Yeah, I'd never wear ugg or ugg equivalents for actual winter activities. They are warm, until they get wet. I'd almost be more inclined to buy a cute pair of rain boots to keep moisture out and then wear some heavily insulated socks with them.

As someone who has had multiple surgeries on both knees, it isn't that bad. Just remember you get as much out of rehab as you put in.
I'll agree with with this. Do the exercises before and after surgery. They are tedious but I believe they helped me a lot. The knee I had surgery on is now way better than my other knee.

I really want to avoid a snowblower for just this year. Good exercise and all that. And no sidewalks. I have a feeling after the first snow I'll be like yep, screw that, getting a snow blower now.

Time to go buy a snowblower, remember 2 stage is good.

Shoveling the heavy snowfalls is so bad for your back. You may want to consider getting a thrower now. I guess I didn't get one until I was 30 so you may be OK.

Like NW said, "2 stage is good." It's really helpful for after the plow comes by and dumps all the snow from the street onto the end of your driveway. I bought a 24" and wish I had gotten one that is a bit bigger.

I guess DH did point out that heavy snow is no fun. I tend to think of the light fluffy stuff.

Woo, long shot here, but do you know of anyone wanting tickets to the football game Saturday? Family friend from back home was going to go but now with the weather and all.

Everyone is freaking out about the snow.

Some lady just came in and complained about being stuck in turbulence last night. Which reminded me of a Pilot Report I saw last night. It was a G650 at 43k feet that reported continuous moderate to severe turbulence that spilled the coffee all over. $65 million dollar business jet...that will be an expensive clean up.

'Moderate turbulence spilled coffee on my $65M jet' is a pretty good #firstworldproblem

But not as good as this one I read yesterday:
'I had to take a dump and forgot to bring my phone and now I'm bored'

How is it even possible that it is going to snow every where across the Midwest except the Twin Cities? I'm seeing a 0% chance of precipitation until next Wednesday. Not complaining. Just a bit dumbfounded.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I'm well aware of the benefits of rehab therapy. Over the course of about 15-20 years I've had 9 surgeries on my right elbow, wrist and thumb. Had to bring the arm back each time. This also explains why I don't like shaking hands (I usually use a scissor move to seat the other person's thumb between my index & middle fingers in an effort to protect my thumbs). I kind of joke about not having opposable thumbs, but if I hadn't been diligent with my rehab, I probably wouldn't be using my right arm much.

It's pretty hysterical seeing me throw a ball though, like a soft ball or baseball. I have zero leverage because of the work on my elbow, so I throw, but there's no "ooomph" behind it. The ball goes about four feet airborne, then falls to the ground & dribbles a few more inches. ;)

CG, does Madison do a snow kickball tournament? I went to one two years ago in Cedar Rapids...it was fun, but I was a nickelsicle by the end of the day.

I'm actually happy we're bugging out tomorrow for Manhattan. It'll be chilly, but not Kansas 2013 cold for the game.

I got my first real pair of snow boots in yeeaars this past February...end of season, coupon, employee discount...less than $20. I still have my Ugg knockoffs I can wear. I know they aren't the most stylish, but with how wide my toe is, trying to find a traditional boot that fits is nearly impossible.

Weird weather: Several years ago, there was some sort of windstorm in Oklahoma that picked up a whole bunch of dust. The system moved north, and it rained mud in Omaha. I tried to google "mud raining in Omaha", but it brought up a bunch of stuff about MUD. (Metropolitan Utilities District...gas company)

That sounds found. Do you remember the name of it? We were talking with friends last night that it would be fun to find a kickball/dodge ball league like CG has.

Wx - the tournament I went to was just a one day thing. Lots of drinking to stay warm, and some people brought fire pits to warm up between games.

That sounds like fun. Thanks for the link CG. I doubt I our friends that we were with last night would play but we could probably get some others to do so.
