Narcos - Netflix Series

Just started the netflix series Narcos and all I can say is wow. Anyone else see it? If you like the movie Blow, American Gangster or Cocaine Coyboys you will like this . Very crazy its all based on a true story.

Love this show, my wife and I got through it in a week.... A little bit of it is dramatized but in general spot on with any documentary on Pablo that I have seen.... I like that they do it from the DEA agents telling the story, very cool angle and it shows that he goes to a bit of the dirty side himself through the season to get what he wants.....

a bit off topic... but Boogie Nights is on Netflix... that is an entertaining movie.

gonna check out The Killing this weekend.

Love s1 of Narcos, I like that 80's gangster type of stuff so this was all more or less a review of Escobar for me but I flew through the season in a 4 or 5 days. For s2 I was really hoping they would start from scratch with another person/location/cartel, I think this show could lose its luster after Pablo is out of the picture.

I find the life of Pablo Escobar fascinating. He was absolutely brutal, and had tons of people killed, but then he turned around at the same time and put SO much money back into devloping and growing his community. He was a bad guy, don't get me wrong, but there are definitely complexities to liking or hating him.

I don't think this will go beyond Season 2 as directed toward Escobar, if you have ever watched any other documentaries on this, the situation gets a lot crazier when they track him down in the jungle(or may be old enough to remember)... If it goes beyond those seasons needs to follow a different person/cartel.....

I wouldn't be surprised if they move back to Miami and focus on Rosanna Blanco "the Black Widow" who ran the Columbian cocaine distribution in south Flordia in the 80's... Her story is even more crazy/brutal than Pablo's IMO.
Just a thought but seems like the natural progression.

I'm halfway through and love it so far. Netflix FTW. Between Narcos, House of Cards, Daredevil, Bloodline, etc.. they have me hooked.

Haven't read this thread to avoid spoilers. 7 episodes in and it's a very good show, but man it is hard to watch sometimes. Dark stuff

it's a very good show but bot quite binge watchable like HOC for me.

Thread Revival:

Narcos: Mexico in on Netflix and I've started watching. Excellent show so far and tells the backstory of the rise of the Guadalajara Cartel and the modern war on drugs.

It doesn't have a happy ending.

Not a spoiler, they tell you that in the first episode.

Agreed. Finished it over the weekend and its really good! The corruption in the Mexican system is astounding. Even their own Eliot Ness ended up being despicable in the end?
