Just watch the drama and be glad that you are not a part of it.

Oh believe me, I am definitely like this. It's slowing bubbling and I am waiting for it to erupt.

Semi related, semi random...how about that epic Tinder rant on Twitter, eh?

http://news.yahoo.com/tinder-vanity-fair-twitter-rant-132055067.html

The only thing I know about Tinder is pretty much what I've heard about on here. I'll assume it started out as a dating sight, but it quickly turned into a hook-up site. That about right?

The rant wasn't that bad IMO. It sounded like someone trying to hang onto their idealistic view of their company even though the general public sees it as something else. I thought it was funny that the columnist went on to say that the article wasn't even about Tinder, even though it was in the title and a good portion of how the article read was tearing it down.

All I know is that I'm unfortunately going to have to familiarize myself with all of this **** before my daughter starts dating. That or move to some extremely secluded part of the world.

Tinder was more of a hook up app than it is now. It used to purely be about the hook up before. Like you both swipe right and you can be bumping uglies within an hour. Now it's a huge ego boost for people and no one takes it that seriously. I agree that Hinge (mentioned in the Vanity article) is just better overall for both dating and hooking up.

The best way to avoid these types of apps for your daughter is to not give her a phone. That might be difficult but I didn't have a cell phone until I was 16 and I turned out fine. There are also age requirements which all the apps take pretty seriously and delete the underage pretty damn fast.

I think it depends on the situation and maturity. Both on board with being **** buddies and will be mature about it inside and outside of work? Probably shouldn't but whatever. Now I wouldn't count every single person in your company out. Maybe if they are outside of your directorate go for it.

I guess in my opinion of both of you are mature, why not? You are both adults.

I think you overestimate how mature new college grads really are. Especially ones that are just now being "truly independent" by living on their own for the first time away from home. That is actually one thing that was a positive from my parents having already been passed away. I matured a lot faster because I had to.

As far as dating in the workplace, the probability of success compared to horrible failure rivals our football team's chances of winning a National Championship.

Just imagine the worst possible break-up possible. Then imagine the possibility of seeing that person again. Then imagine that person either becoming your boss or being a friend of your boss. Even if you're in a large company, the chances of you dealing with someone directly or indirectly are going to catch up to you.

And that's not even touching on the subject of possible sexual harassment suits and the effects that could have on future employment. I have two sisters as HR directors that could scare the hell outta you with some of their stories.

You're in the minority because it's absolutely the wrong decision.

Preach brother's preach! I just don't know how to tell that my coworkers without apparently sounding like an *******.

Few is the word of the day. Just my old man exercise run of 20. I've given up trying to get in shape enough to ride with you young athletes. :)
Went for a short bike ride through wooded trails last night with the kids. As I was riding a bug flew straight into the back of my throat and I made a horrible hacking sound. The little one, after asking what that noise was, just started laughing. Kids are insensitive. Also, I can't blame her. The sound was a bit dramatic.
