thats creepy... not the fact, but that you looked it up AND shared.

HAHA!

No, just happened to run across both of their Twitter accounts and they both wished their wives Happy Anniversary a couple days ago, then I put 2 & 2 together. LOL!

Is it fair to say whomever they hire sans Otz, will be expected to retain the current coaching staff?
Otz would actually need to add to the staff.

Think the candidates would all be willing to do this?

I need someone to help me out here. What is the fascination with TJ? The only thing he has done is prove he can recruit some decent talent. No one is confusing with a top 20 recruiter in the country or he would have been poached by a more historical program. If he leaves after a year, so what? Proehm is great recruiter and Underwood has proven he could get it done at both KSU and SFA.

Why do posters on this site continue to prop up TJ?

He has never been a head coach, which is a much bigger challenge.

ive been banging my head asking this....don't bother..you will get ridiculed for daring to question the amazing OZ. 99% of asst coaches at the P5 level have to leave and go the mid major route as a HC first to prove they can succeed running a winning program before making that jump to a HC at P5... Like Underwood and many others. Underwood has succeeded at recruitng, developing players, and winning at all levels...yet somehow TJ is more qualofied

If we start agreeing I'm going to look for the asteroid soon. While I agree on keeping TJ..prohm top asst is the guy who recruited the two NBA players at Murray st. Maybe that's a good thing. Not like u can't have more than one great recruiter on staff.

That would be a good thing. But IT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. Prohm is NOT bringing in his top Assistant to Iowa State. What do you say now?

Hah, I don't know about that. But I think Altman is a good example. He's had good teams the last few years, finishing near the top of the conference and making tournaments. Yet look at this article.

If you're a coach and passionate about basketball, that has to be disheartening. If we'd offer a decent pay bump, why not come here.

Oregon basketball is facing a serious image problem right now. Off the court issues, low attendance, etc. I'm not saying that's Altman's fault, but he would arrive with some baggage - IMO.

I like Underwood over Prohm and Drew. No thanks to those 2 guys. You have been pushing Prohm. No ties to our territory. Has only been at Murray State. Lost his top assistant to La Tech. Poor defensive rebounding team. Has low assist ratio. And has been really turnover prone. Elaborate on WHY you think this guy is so great again.

The reason he might be available. And why he might want to move away from Oregon. Back to the Midwest with a team with great potential. And we can maybe get him at the same salary as he was getting. Homerun hire IMO.

ALSO, the sooner ISU gets rid of Leath the better. This guy has been a pompous micromanaging indecisive ******* since he has been here (and this is not just in regards to the AD, everyone who works at ISU feels it).

Or maybe he's demanding more from everyone, including the AD, which ruffles some feathers.

Id say he's doing exactly what he should be here.

Barack Obama would be more likely to coach at Iowa State.

I'd also note though, that I feel we're a better job than all but Texas and Florida.

I'd agree with that.

I did some more digging. The 3 previous years (2012-2014) there were 23 P5+BigEast coaching changes. I found 3 where a P5+BigEast coach was pulled from another P5+BigEast school:

Cuonzo Martin was hired by Cal away from Tennessee
Buzz Williams was hired by Virginia Tech away from Marquette
Frank Martin was hired by South Carolina away from Kansas State

That's not exactly a Murder's Row of winning coaches...

He goes....GRANDFATHERS CLOCK FOR MY NEXT PURCHASE. Oh my god, im dying.

Girl comes over....Hey, check out this big *** tower clock I have. Ummmmm I have to go you weirdo.

Although...let's be fair...it's BodeClone...the girl would be saying that WELL before getting to 'hey look at my clock' stage.

Hey, now that I think of it..."wanna see my clock" would be a great pickup line for those nights at the bar where you really DGAF, but if it comes along, why not?

They all had good reasons to leave.

JP should tell Leath that he is giving Bubu Palo an interview for the job and ask his opinion about that. He could tell Leath that would certainly be a "splash hire" with a lot of publicity.
